Jason Kelce is like the Swiss Army knife of the NFL’s retired class—singing, dancing, podcasting, even wrangling his crew of three young daughters, and much more. You name it and the older Kelce can do it! But guess what? This beloved former Eagle just admitted there’s one thing he can’t do, and it’s right on the football field. Surprised? You shouldn’t be!

The man, who’s known for blocking linemen rather than kicking footballs, stepped into the spotlight during Pat McAfee’s weekly field goal challenge. Clad in Timberland boots—yup, maybe a hindrance—Kelce decided to give kicking a try. Spoiler alert: it didn’t go well. With both attempts sailing wildly to the left, he quickly quipped, “I s-ck at kicking!” Talk about a self-assessment!

But hey, can we cut him a little slack? Who’s kicking field goals in boots, anyway? Nonetheless, it’s clear why Jason was a center and not a punter! However, we can give him props for one thing as he deserves to get. For stepping up to the challenge that a Penn State student put up to.

It’s not every day you see a trio like McAfee, Kirk Herbstreit, and Kelce together, especially on a Saturday during week 10 of the college football season. But College GameDay brought that fun to the table. Usually, it’s just students who get to kick for some serious cash. But Jason joined the party and boy, he did bring the typical Kelce fun throughout the day.

Jason Kelce’s racking up the ESPN appearances!

Jason Kelce is living his best life post-retirement. And honestly, the man deserves it. Fresh off 13 seasons in the NFL with the Eagles, he isn’t holding back when it comes to enjoying football (and why should he?), whether it’s tailgating or appearing on ESPN. The latter might have seemed to have increased quite a lot lately. And this weekend, he stepped up for a top-five college matchup at Beaver Stadium, where No. 3 Penn State takes on No. 4 Ohio State. How cool is that?

Before even making it to GameDay, Kelce broke the news on his New Heights podcast to his brother Travis Kelce. But here’s the kicker (pun totally intended): Kelce is not a fan of either team. Nope! He’s repping his alma mater, Cincinnati, where he learned the ropes as a walk-on linebacker.

But why is he showing up for this game? It’s all about that kicking challenge! However, it did not go how he hoped it to go. “I’m going straight on. I’m not giving a plant leg, just going straight through,” he said. He did all that, exactly how he manifested. But, alas, to no good.

But don’t expect it an embarrassing end for Jason—he’s on a roll-off late. So, what’s next? Only time will tell if he’d be ever attempting to kick an FG ever again. But one thing’s for sure: whether he’s on the field or off, he knows how to keep us entertained.
