Julian Edelman Takes Another Dig at Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen: “I Was at the House”

Julian Edelman was one of the cornerstones during the peak period of the Patriots. Through his 12 years with the greatest team of this century, he formed a dynamic pair with NFL legend Tom Brady. Considered one of Tom Brady’s closest companions, Edelman retired just a year after Brady left the Patriots despite his knee injuries. However, after retirement, he doesn’t hesitate to share some anecdotes about his playing days.

This week, when Julian Edelman was invited to the podcast The Rush with Maxx Crosby: Episode 9, he discussed his days with the Patriots and Tom Brady. While explaining his relationship with Brady, he narrated how he got closer to him over the years, eventually ending up at his house.

Edelman explained how he slowly gained Tom Brady’s trust as he wanted to improve. He said, “I made myself available to him. So, like that first year, he hit me up once. The second year, he hit me up once a week. The third year, we were doing it four times a week, and I was having lunch with Gisele and eating avocado ice cream at the house.

Edelman joined the Patriots in 2009 and stayed with the team until 2021. He was a cornerstone in the Patriots’ camp and formed a deadly pair with Tom Brady, helping them win three Super Bowls. Although Brady wasn’t too close with Edelman initially, he started trusting Edelman more over time, so Edelman candidly spent time at Brady’s house and turned into his punching bag on the field.

Former Patriots scout Ernie Adams and Julian Edelman were invited to the Games with Names podcast where they discussed “the beginning of the Patriots dynasty.” An instrumental part of the setup, Edelman, revealed how he was a punching bag for Brady. He narrated, “With him, I was a punching bag for him.

Edelman’s shocking revelation related to his concerns for youngsters as Edelman wanted to shield them. But in the process, he would face the brunt of Brady’s frustration during their practice sessions. However, he would stick with Brady as his training partner because Brady was an epitome of perfection, as described by Edelman, “Make a mistake? He just can’t make the same mistake twice.
