When the Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason Kelce won Super Bowl LII, his wife, Kylie Kelce, blacked out. The couple calls that year the two-ring season as they got married in April 2018. However, she played a much bigger role in making sure he also kept the money earned the hard way.

During the October 23 episode of her own podcast Not Gonna Lie, she revealed the advice she gave her husband to help him avoid unnecessary fines and on-field drama. “What I did often, often remind him, was that if a fight broke out, that he better keep all 10 of his piggy toes on the outside of that field,” Kylie said while talking about NFL player fines.

“Because you wanna know another way they pop you? If you so much as step a foot onto that field when you were not previously on that field, while there is a fight happening, even if you went out there to break it up, fine. Fine dollars out of your pocket into the NFL’s.” she explained. She wasn’t joking either. Kylie made it clear that this rule wasn’t about avoiding injuries; it was about protecting their money and keeping things smart.

Kylie’s strategy was simple. Stay calm, stay smart, and stay out of it. “When Jason was there, that was my pep talk,” she explained. “‘Hey, doesn’t involve you. You keep your a– where it is. Don’t do it.'” And while she trusted her husband’s discipline, Kylie couldn’t help but laugh about what might’ve happened if he had joined in.

“As much as I would love to say that Jason would be the one who would hop in there and be the peacekeeper breaking it up, you and I both know,” she said with a laugh. “I’m pretty sure he was going and swinging.” For Jason Kelce, playing tough was never the problem. But thanks to Kylie, he learned how to play smart.

Yet there have been plenty of controversial moments in his career.

Jason Kelce had plenty of heated scenes in his NFL career

During his career, Eagles’ legend Jason Kelce rarely complained about officials. But when he heard about the NFL fining the NY Giants linebacker Brian Burns for criticizing the referees’ calls after the Week 8 game, he couldn’t hide his anger. The center angrily claimed that the league was setting a wrong example.

Even back in the 2021 season, during the week 7 game against the LV Raiders, he tackled the LB Cory Littleton at the 9-minute mark in the 3rd quarter. Both players had to be separated by the referees. Later, the league fined him $10,300 for his unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. But yes, like Kylie said, there have not been many instances when he was fined or on the wrong side of football rules.

The only times he has made a mistake are when his emotions took over. It happened in 2024, months after he retired from the sport.

Before the Penn State–Ohio State football game in November, Jason Kelce’s interaction with fans took a heated turn. As the former Eagles center mingled with the crowd, one fan reportedly shouted, “How does it feel that your brother is a f—-t for dating Taylor Swift?” In a video that quickly spread online, Kelce appeared to grab the fan’s phone and slam it to the ground before firing back, “Who’s the f—-t now?” Kelce was at the game as part of ESPN’s broadcast team, and the incident has since sparked a wave of reactions across social media.

The matter was de-escalated later on, and Kelce agreed he shouldn’t have reacted in such a way.

However, Jason Kelce had an overall great competitive spirit throughout his career.
