The New England Patriots side knows how to respect their legends. Recently, their gestures for the gunner and wide receiver Matthew Slater showed how much the franchise values their players. As per reports, the wide receiver might have played his last game with the team yesterday.
To show gratitude, the Patriots made a touching tribute to the player. Tom Brady too was enamored by the gesture and took to Instagram to pay in his tributes for the 3X SB winner.
When it comes to making their teammates feel special and show gratitude for their services, the Patriots do set a benchmark. As Slater played his last game on the legendary side, the entire team was seen wearing No. 18 hoodies during warmups as they rallied for their 13-year captain.

Furthermore, all the players and the team owner Robert Kraft donned Slater-inspired threads on the field that included a long list of their retiring captain’s achievements. The 5X First-Team All-Pro winner was overwhelmed with emotions and expressed his gratitude for the same. “I just want to express my thanks to the guys in that locker room today. Very appreciative for all the love and the support that I received this whole season, and today and this week.”

Tom Brady shows his appreciation for Matthew Slater
It was an emotional moment for Slater as he took the field in a Patriots jersey for reportedly his final game yesterday. The occasion couldn’t have been more fitting, with the former captain coming out on the Gillette Stadium turf for one final appearance. As the 10X Pro-Bowler received love from all sides, Tom Brady too joined in with his tribute. The 7X SB winner took to his Instagram story and wrote- “@patriots One of a kind in every way…Love you, Slate, and so proud of you.”.
Brady shared the official NFL post for the reportedly retiring player on his story. The Patriots did go above and beyond to shower immense love on their loyal custodians. It was the team’s gesture that had the sporting world talking about how a player should be given retirement.
