Terry Bradshaw was a longtime registered Republican voter, but back in 2020, he switched and became an independent voter. Explaining his decision, he said, “I don’t want to alienate anyone, and the minute you say, ‘I’m a Democrat’ or ‘I’m Republican,’ you’re kicking off the other side. I want the best person [in the White House], and I’ll pick the one who’s most like the way I feel.” In fact, Bradshaw had previously criticized Trump’s stance against NFL players who decided to kneel for the national anthem. He was of the opinion that it was done in protest of inequality and police brutality.
In 2017, on ‘FOX NFL Sunday’, he stated that NFL players had the freedom to exercise their rights. “I’m not sure if our President understands those rights. That every American has the right to speak out also to protest. Believe me, these athletes do love our this great country of ours.”
“Personally, I think our President should concentrate on North Korea and healthcare rather than ripping into athletes and the NFL.” It is clear that Terry Bradshaw has been critical of Donald Trump. However, his daughter, Rachel, seems to have opposing political views. She is his oldest daughter and is a musician.

Reposting an image shared by Donald Trump Jr., she wrote, “Makes me sick. Thank God @realdonaldtrump you are back!!!!!!!!!!” What was the post all about?
Well, it was an image of Lia Thomas, a transgender athlete, standing on the podium with a win. Beside her was Riley Gaines, who looked unhappy with her second-place win. This image had previously sparked debates about transgender athletes competing in women’s sports, which has been quite a polarizing topic in recent years. In fact, Gaines was one of those who came forward to oppose transgenders in women’s sports. And it seems Rachel’s views align here.

A very vocal supporter of Trump, she had posted an IG story earlier, which included Trump’s announcement of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as US Secretary of Health 7 Human Services (HHS). She is happy with the election outcome and letting the world know about it.
Earlier this week, she posted a story mocking Kamala Harris. She posted an image of Harris with the caption, ‘Bye’ and a waving-hand emoji, and several crying emojis. While Terry Bradshaw and his daughter seem to have opposing political views, they maintain a close bond. However, Bradshaw, who began his broadcasting journey in 1984, also contemplated retirement.

When Terry Bradshaw thought about retirement
Let’s rewind and go back four decades. Visualize a young Terry Bradshaw who had won Super Bowls and just retired from the NFL. He joined CBS in 1984 as a broadcaster. But boom! The reality hit him hard. He isn’t good at this job. He secretly wished to retire and try something else.
“I was a better player in the Super Bowl than I am as a broadcaster,” he said while talking about those days with BSM’s Demetri Ravanos in early November.
“I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to stumble in broadcasting. And after a really hard talk and deciding well I’ll retire, I’m not gonna do this anymore. It wasn’t any fun… And then The NFL Today came calling. And that’s really where I should’ve been.”
A chat with Ted Shaker, a former CBS Sports executive, changed his mindset. He opened his mind to new opportunities, and that’s how he got into broadcasting. However, the journey was not easy had to face depression in the 1990s and also fought against cancer a couple of years ago. He is cancer-free today.

A cancer survivor who also beat depression earlier, he has always shown toughness. However, NFL fans have also started noticing that Bradshaw is prone to making mistakes during his broadcast sequences. This is something that has concerned fans. One instance would be when he was discussing the Cleveland Browns vs. Cincinnati Bengals game, while the Buffalo Bills vs. Tennessee Titans’ highlights were shown.

It took him a couple of seconds to realize his mistake and that’s when he said, “Whoops, wrong one.” However, there have been several other incidents that made fans feel that Bradshaw should retire from broadcasting; not because of the quality of his work but because they were concerned about his health.
