Tom Brady and Julian Edelman’s friendship is something quite legendary that’s not to be missed. It blossomed during their time together in the Patriots locker room, with Edelman actively seeking Brady’s mentorship. JE once shared how in 2009, he made himself “available for him [Brady]”, gradually progressing from small interactions to regular meetings that even involved “having lunch with Gisele and eating avocado ice cream at the house.” 

This wasn’t just about friendship; he wanted to learn from the football legend and become the wide receiver Brady could always rely on. Their bond grew, culminating in three Super Bowl victories together. Given their close bond, how can Tom miss wishing Edelman his birthday? In fact, he also took some aim while doing so. 

Minitron celebrated his 38th birthday on May 22nd, and Tom Brady shared a heartwarming photo on his Instagram story, captioning it, “Happy Birthday to the little brother I never asked for.” However, he couldn’t resist another lighthearted jab, adding, “No seriously… Can someone come pick him up? He won’t leave.”

This wasn’t the only time Brady playfully teased his friends. Lately, he has been in a joking mood, especially after his Netflix special “Tom Brady Roast.” He also poked fun at his former tight end, Rob Gronkowski, in a similar fashion. On Gronk’s birthday, Brady posted, “Did you think I forgot?” and said he just wanted Gronk to “sweat a little” for the wish. Interestingly, the trio of Gronk, Edelman, and Brady have been entertaining to watch in recent times.

Gronk jokingly remarked how “Everyone kissed Tom’s a**,” while Edelman went a step further with that. Their ability to roast each other so relentlessly stemmed from the strong bond they developed in the Patriots’ locker room, a bond that extends beyond the football field and onto the stage and social media.

While Gronk and Brady eventually left for the Buccaneers, Julian Edelman remained loyal to the Patriots. He recently admitted feeling “pissed a little bit” when his friends departed but humorously revealed that Brady had even asked, “Hey Baby, want me to get you down here?” Despite the tempting offer, Edelman declined, emphasizing his loyalty as a “one-team” guy.

Even though they didn’t play together in Tampa Bay, they had a great nine-season run with the Patriots. This time not only made them legends on the team, but also created a strong friendship that still makes fans happy today.
