Pat McAfee’s family has been going through a lot these days! While the sports analyst’s exit from Barstool Sports has left the fans buzzing about his future with ESPN, yet another sad news from his family has upset his fans. Yes, this is none other than Pat McAfee’s wife, Samantha, who never fails to inspire her fans through her personal struggles and life experiences.

For instance, take her pregnancy battles – she never lost hope even after two miscarriages and welcomed her daughter Mackenzie Lynn McAfee with former NFL punter Pat McAfee on May 4, 2023. No wonder, behind her fearless and heroic personality, it is her NFL hubby, who has been with her every step of the way. Hence, her latest inspirational note amid her scary health issues is no exception. She even seemed optimistic while going through another ‘scary’ surgery.

Taking to her official IG handle, the wife of Pat McAfee’s show host shared a post about her concerning health update.  Along with sharing a picture of a hospital room background, she disclosed her numerous surgeries. “The amount of surgeries I have had in the past five years is alarming,” she mentioned in her IG post caption.  Further, the CEO and founder of non-profit Fur the Brand, Samantha, expressed her wish not to have the surgery anymore.

“Hopefully this will be the last one for a while,” she added. Besides sharing about her recent surgery, her 3-word strong remark captured her fans’ interest. “Women are resilient,” the Colts’ ex-punter’s wife mentioned.

While she was in the hospital, Samantha had her mom take care of her. With a snap from the hospital room, she shared, “My mom is loving being able to take care of her baby girl. Now that I am a mother, I understand this so much. Years of being needed,d then years of not. Moms are special. We always love to take care of our babies, young or older,” she shared.

Now, being a mother herself, she resonates with the feeling of what it means to be a mom. In yet another story, sharing a snap of the sandwich, she mentions, “Nothing a mom’s homemade grilled cheese can’t fix.” As she finds herself embracing the loving care of her mom, it reminds her of the journey of her motherhood.

Samantha McAfee’s pregnancy journey

Before welcoming her daughter Mackenzie, Samantha had to experience the pain of two devastating pregnancy losses, wherein the internal bleeding threatened her life. Because of this, she had to remove both of her Fallopian tubes, which made natural conception impossible for her.

And, Samantha and Pat turned to IVF in July 2022. Despite her fear of needles, she endured the pain of 150+ hormone injections, often multiple shots per day. And, it made her feel like a “human science project,” given the excruciating pain of IVF. However, things took a positive turn on May 4, 2023, with the birth of their daughter, Mackenzie Lynn McAfee. And, they called her their “double rainbow baby.”

Pat posted on Instagram, writing, “I can’t wait to see where this foot gets to go, beautiful girl. WE LOVE YOU.” While it was a silver lining, the couple still had to undergo another tragedy. On Mackenzie’s second birthday in 2025, Samantha revealed that the couple had suffered another miscarriage within the past year.

But through her journey, Samantha continues to inspire others. She has opened up to people who have similar struggles, posting, “I hope this isn’t a trigger but rather serves as hope. Hope that you too can overcome the battle of infertility… after a storm, a rainbow can occur.” Her story is an inspiration for others who have embraced a similar kind of pain.

In her recent story, Samantha also posted a snap with little Mackenzie, writing, “Sweet girl understanding to be gentle with momma.” With such instances, Samantha’s motherhood journey continues to win the hearts of her fans.
