After dipping his toes in the 20-minute radio segment on 93.7 The Fan FM, then 102.5 WDVE, Steelers’ former QB Ben Roethlisberger realized one thing– he loves talking football. Actually, he realized two things: he loves talking about football and drinking beer with his buddies while talking about football. And that’s how he stumbled upon the idea of creating his own podcast– Footbahllin

Initially, his idea was to give “uneducated craft beer reviews, over-educated football insight & a list of special guests that won’t disappoint.” Over the years, Footbahlin has become a blend of football insights, lively banters, craft beer tasting, and the most unconventional for a two-time Super Bowl champ, culinary projects. But now, he is set to give his fans a closer look at it all.

Roethlisberger recently posted on his podcast’s official Instagram, “We are taking the show on the road! We’re filming next week’s episode at Giant Eagle Market District in Robinson! THERE ARE ONLY 50 SPOTS!!! First come first serve click the LINK IN OUR BIO to reserve your spot. We’ll see yinz there! Tickets are free but limited. Ticket limit: up to 2 per person.”

This is the first time that Roethlisberger is taking his “second chapter” to the streets. There is no direct evidence that he has done any specific street project. But there’s no doubt that he will be just as thrilled to host in front of his fans as they would be to see him. Previously, when he had cleared his intentions of why he wanted to start a podcast, he did not hold back on his love for football and his fans.

“I am still going to give the fans what they want to hear,” Roethlisberger said. “That’s part of the fun of doing it. They want to hear something about us.”

From the studio to the streets, Big Ben is set to step into another territory of unconventional media life. Interestingly, Steelers’ DT Cam Heyward also started his podcast Not Just Football with Cam Heyward on an ESPN-affiliated channel through Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions. He, too, re-launched it with Vox Media last September. But for Roethlisberger, it’s not to say that he doesn’t want a formal job. In fact, he recently talked about that side of his career plan as well.

Ben Roethlisberger wants to join the scouting department

Back in April, before the 2025 NFL draft, Roethlisberger eyed his future. In an episode of his Footbahlin podcast, he revealed that he would love to help his former team evaluate talent. “If the Steelers were to ask me, ‘Hey would you look at this? Would you evaluate this? Walk me through what you see here.’ I would love to do that,” Roethlisberger said.

His approach was simple. Instead of standing with a clipboard, he explained that he would be keeping a close eye on how a player carries himself in crucial situations. “I would love to go to a game and watch it, like a live game. Like, I would just watch that player,” he said. “Look at him when he comes off the field. Does he sit on the bench and pout? Does he go sit down, is he throwing his hands up and blaming other people, or is he like, ‘My bad?’”

The former Steelers QB even shared early takes on two top 2025 picks, praising Jaxson Dart’s “mentality” and calling Will Howard a “winner.” That mindset fits perfectly for Big Ben’s career. Known as a quarterback who thrived on improvisation, he might have “the eye” for spotting the next Roethlisberger for the Steelers, something that the team has been searching for since his retirement. But with all his future endeavors, it remains certain that he isn’t done shaping the game. For now, get ready for his live event soon.
