“You must win your crowd,” Ray Lewis once said, and honestly, he’s been doing just that from day one. On the field, the man’s a beast. He’s still the only player in NFL history with 40 sacks and 30 interceptions. That alone speaks volumes. But Lewis is more than just a football legend. Off the field, he’s a winner too. He’s got a strong heart, a loving mom, Sunseria “Buffy” Smith, whom he just celebrated on her birthday, April 30. And let’s not forget the fans. They’ve stood by him, cheered for him, and loved him through it all. And if you ever doubted how much he means to people, wait till you see the surprise he got when he hit a major milestone. It says everything, along with what he wants from Lamar Jackson.
On May 15, Ray Lewis gave Baltimore a moment to remember. The Baltimore Ravens‘ legend stepped out in front of a roaring crowd, holding his grandbaby close, and instantly stole the show. That day wasn’t just any day, it was his 50th birthday. He posted the video on Instagram, showing thousands of fans packed in front of the stage, all there to celebrate their legend.
With the mic in hand and emotion in his voice, Ray Lewis shouted, “I love you, Baltimore!” And the crowd? They went wild. This is the man who brought them two Super Bowl wins, after all. In his caption, he thanked everyone who came out and sang “Happy Birthday” to him. But he didn’t stop there. With all eyes on him, he used the moment to make one bold birthday wish for Lamar Jackson.

Lewis fired up the crowd, saying, “Y’all know what the goal is. Let’s get back to the Super Bowl. It’s in our hands, baby.” And the fans? They went crazy. Who wouldn’t? The Ravens haven’t brought home a Super Bowl since 2013, and Ray Lewis was the heart of that championship team.
Now, standing tall on his 50th birthday, he’s calling on Lamar Jackson and the squad to bring one home after 12 long years. And if the road looks tough with powerhouse teams across the league? Ray Lewis made one thing clear: he’s more than ready to step in and help his Ravens get there again.
Ray Lewis wants to be like Tom Brady?
The Ravens have had some amazing players, but none quite like Ray Lewis. He was picked in the team’s very first draft and went on to become a legend. In March, Lewis caught everyone’s attention on Twitter, teasing if he might “pull a (Tom) Brady” and come back to play.

CBS had posted a throwback clip of him. In that, he was flying in for a sack before the ball even snapped. That was classic Ray, indeed, full of fire and speed. He reposted it on his own account, dropping that one-liner that had fans buzzing – “Should I pull a Brady?” However, many of his admirers appreciated the idea, with some even pushing him to become a linebacker coach for the team. So now the big question, could Ray Lewis really return to the NFL?
Uh…Likely not! But really, he’s been clear, he’s thinking about coaching. He’s in the running to lead Florida Atlantic University’s football team after they let go of their coach. Lewis spent 17 years with the Ravens, winning two Super Bowls and becoming the soul of their defense. He might not have coaching experience yet, but players want to learn from someone who’s been at the top, just like what we’ve seen with Deion Sanders. Plus, FAU is close to where Lewis grew up and where he played college football. It feels like the right place for him to start this new chapter.
