A ‘bond’ comes naturally when the TE is not only the QBs cornerstone but also a trusted life confidante. Rob Gronkowski and Tom Brady shared something similar during their eight years of on-field companionship. “We always had a true Bond. We always stuck together,” reminisced Gronk. Yet, the two had polarising definitions of hanging out, especially when, ten years back down the memory lane, they both were in different stages in their life.
Brady’s marriage at 33 with his then dream woman Gisele Bundchen demanded a lot of things from him, especially his time. Something that proved to be too expensive for the then multi-million worth QB, given his dedication to football. After almost 10 years, Rob Gronk opened up on how it affected their ‘bond’.

Tom Brady had his priorities sorted

“One of the best family man I’ve ever seen in my life,” was what Brady is to Gronk, much more than a teammate. Hence, Gronk did not mind when Brady had to miss their ping-pong and cornhole tournaments to take time out for his family, mainly his kids. “When I met him, he was a focused, great parent. So then obviously you don’t really hang out with the vets either,” understandingly stated Gronkowski. “You’re 30. As a vet, you’re not hanging with a 21-year-old,” expressed Gronk.

Brady is famous in the world as a football fanatic who could barely keep himself off the field. Albeit whenever he did, it was with his wife and 3 kids: Jack, Benjamin, and Vivian. Brady’s over-commitment to football was always a topic to bring a frown on Bundchen’s face, and potentially serve as one of the few reasons to end their marriage. Despite their divorce, and Tom Brady reportedly seeing new women, his kids remain his top priority. While he was busy building his career and his family, other players kept Gronk company.

Gronk’s ‘hangout’ mates

As he said, Gronk had his group of other 20-year-olds to keep him company. Stephen Ridley, Shane Vine, and Julian Amandola were some names that he divulged. These were Gronk’s late-night party friends, with whom to he developed a different type of ‘special bond’.

Drafted right after he finished his college career with Arizona as the 42nd overall pick in the 2010 NFL draft by Patriots, Rob Gronk had little time to indulge in his youth. Hence, he satiated them with a promising career ahead of him, along with even more promising ‘bonds’.
