“Surprised Robert Saleh’s Beard Hasn’t Turned Gray”: Cowboys Legend Takes a Jab at New York Jets’ Coach Following Disastrous Loss to Chargers

Every time the NFL cameras zoomed in on the New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh, he looked like he was in pain. Pain hidden behind a stonewall face. After all, his team lost to the Los Angeles Chargers with a dismal record. As they were trying to pick themselves up from this humiliation, they had to face the judgment of other legends, including Troy Aikman. The retired Dallas Cowboys legend had an interesting take on the Jets head coach, Robert Saleh. 

Amidst a poor season record of 4-4, naysayers have called out the head coach. However, the coach looked so stressed during the game that even Aikman took note of it.

In the last game between the Jets and the Chargers, the Jets suffered a terrible performance and fell into their worst defeat this season with 6-27. Troy Aikman couldn’t hide his frustration any longer as he expressed his opinion on the Jets’ performance on Monday Night Football. He said, “I’m surprised Robert Saleh’s beard hasn’t turned gray tonight.

The Monday night game saw Derius Davis returning a punt 87 yards for a TD while Austin Ekeler ran for two scores. The Chargers shone in their defense, making it difficult for Jets star QB Zach Wilson to charge through the field. He was sacked eight times, leading to a 6-27 defeat. Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen completed 77 yards, reaching his 10,000 career receiving yards.

Zach Wilson managed to secure 33 of 49 for 263 yards in the game. Talking about Wilson in a post-game conference, Saleh said, “Was it his best game? Obviously not. Was it his first game? No, I’m not going to say it was even close to his worst game. I think the entire offense could have been better.

It is a heartbreaking blow to the head coach to watch his team fall terribly in the hands of the Chargers. This has led to a lot of questions about Aaron Rodgers. There have been rumors about Rodgers potentially returning from his Achilles injury for a playoff push. However, many feel the Jets team won’t be worth returning to after their latest performance.

After the Jets’ Week 9 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, they will head into their Week 10 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. The next two months will see them face the Raiders, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, Atlanta Falcons, Houston Texans, Washington Commanders, Cleveland Browns, and New England Patriots.
