Sean Payton, the coach for the Denver Broncos, was recently seen yelling at Russell Wilson following their loss against the Detroit Lions. The 59-year-old coach clearly lost his cool after witnessing a shocking defeat by a score of 42-17 and choosing Wilson as a target.

The Denver Broncos currently stand on a 7-7 record as the playoffs draw closer. Every game is an emotional rollercoaster during this time of the year, but it’s never enough to justify feelings of frustration directed towards a player. And that is exactly what occurred during the interaction between Coach Peyton and Wilson. Payton kept yelling at the quarterback while he didn’t say a word in response, and it looks like Richard Sherman had some strong words to say about the coach’s attitude towards his players.

On the newest episode of the ‘Undisputed’ show, Skip Bayless asked Sherman about his thoughts on the viral interaction between Wilson and Payton, and he didn’t hold back with his brutal thoughts on the veteran coach.

Sherman bluntly said, “That’s not the way to coach really any quarterback that’s definitely not the way way to talk to a veteran quarterback in the National Football League who’s actually played pretty well for your team this season. When you yell at a quarterback like that and you’re that animated in on the national scene and outside for everybody to see then what you’re saying Skip is this is on him, not me. Hey, this is on him, blame him for this.” In response to the situation, Wilson didn’t divulge what exactly Payton said but also didn’t mind being yelled at by his coach on national television.

The match against the Detroit Lions was of crucial importance for the Broncos. If they had won the match, it would’ve meant a better chance at making it to the play-offs. But their loss angered Payton, which is what led to the spat on the sidelines. Regarding the situation, Wilson, the 35-year-old Super Bowl winner, chose to be the bigger man and not say anything negative about his coach.

Wilson humbly said, “I think the biggest thing is we’re trying to score a touchdown there. I think we all want to score there. I think that’s our focus and that’s – you want a coach that’s passionate. We want players that are, too, and everything else. And so, we wanted to score a touchdown. I think my biggest thing is always trying to focus on the next play and unfortunately, those few plays, we didn’t get the touchdowns there, so that was the only unfortunate part about that part.” The Broncos have their next three matches lined up against the Patriots, the Chargers, and the Raiders. Hopefully, the fans can see a much friendlier relationship between the two in the upcoming games.
