Pat McAfee takes into consideration his years away from training and discipline and acknowledges the challenge it would be for Colin to come back to the NFL as a quarterback. He said, “I think it’s gonna be difficult but he’s saying hey let me be on the practice squad. So I don’t think he’s that far away from XFL… I don’t think he’s that far away from potentially getting to a point where I just want to play football and prove myself.”

Colin Kaepernick’s football comeback skill is shrouded in mystery

The former 49er left the NFL after an incident where he protested against racial discrimination and police brutality by sitting down during the US national anthem. But during his six seasons with the 49ers, he made impressions by breaking two NFL records for most rushing yards by a quarterback in a game with 181 yards and most rushing yards by a quarterback in a postseason with 264 yards.
