Apart from being a legend in the league, Drew Brees is also a doting father to 4 kids. Even with a busy schedule, the NFL legend couldn’t miss out on witnessing his son, Bowen Brees, get some action in the field. He shared a clip from his son’s high school game on his Instagram, wrote, “No question this is a Top 10 catch of the year, no matter what level of football! Bowen in the Freshman game this weekend. Don’t know how he pulled this one in! @espn Top10 @nfl @nflonfox.”

The clip got approvals from former NFL players and experts, and analysts quickly. The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers player Tom Brady made a silent gesture by liking the post. Dan Orlovsky commented, “Sheesh,” to show his approval. The crowd in the game had the same reaction when the 14-year-old receiver moved quickly and leaped to catch the call. Many others commented on the post to praise the young receiver.
Both of Drew’s sons share their father’s love for the sport. Both play for the SFCEagles. And Brees often shares snippets of both his sons’ games on his IG. Just a few days ago, he shared another clip and wrote, “Fun to watch our high school boys, Baylen & Bowen come into their own on the football field. Proud of how these boys have worked and studied and readied themselves for the opportunity! @sfcseagles.football.”

Back in 2012, Brees even joked that his son Bowen might just be the family’s future football player, even though Bowen was only two at the time. “He might be our little football player,” he told CBS News. He could see his son’s talent. Cut to 2025, he is not limited to just football. Bowen is also quite good at baseball.

“Proud father moment…Bowen has been putting in the time and reps…hit his first home run today over the fence,” Brees captioned the post, sharing a clip of his son hitting the first home run. “GRAND SLAM actually…and the best part was seeing little brother as the first one to jump on him at home plate!” Brees shares four children with his wife, Brittany. After their son Callen, the couple welcomed their daughter Rylen to the family.
From the posts and stories, it’s obvious that the father of four makes sure to be present for his kids. At the same time, he is always ready to take on new opportunities in his career.

He first tested the waters way back in 2021 when he worked on NBC’s Football Night in America. He called Notre Dame games and even spent time in the booth for a couple of NFL matchups. His limited but varied roles gave him some early exposure in front of national audiences. This new role, for a reported one week, will add another feather to his cap. He also has a Christmas game scheduled this season.

Just last month, he even made it clear that he still sees a place for himself in the booth. He even claimed that he could immediately rank among the top three NFL broadcasters if given the chance. “I chuckle because even as I look at the landscape right now, I mean, I have so much respect for a lot of guys in the booth right now, but I’d step in the booth right now and be a top-three guy,” he said during his interview with Dan Patrick. “Like, without question. And then you give me a few years, and I could be the best.”
