From being a league hopeful to becoming the NFL GOAT to owning a team, life has come full circle for him. With a stake in the WNBA’ Las Vegas Aces, he has achieved enough to ensure his name stays in the headlines of different sports.

However, ever since the news of Raiders’ 5% limited ownership spread, the league was concerned. He had signed a 10 year, $375 million broadcasting deal with FOX in the 2024 offseason. Being a team owner, officials feared a ‘conflict of interest.’ And all sanctions were applied, like prohibiting him from attending team meetings. But Tom Brady cleared his stance about it, and said, “The league’s full of great potential, and what I believe is the resumes, the accolades, they’re all earned by what people do on the field. You earn your opportunities, and you do your performance and let that do the talking.”

The performance that he was referring to is the Raiders’ search for a head coach after firing Antonio Pierce. And while Tom Brady can’t join the franchise as an employee on payroll, he has been giving inputs whenever needed. He is a key member of the committee made to find the new head coach. They completed virtual interviews with Lions OC Ben Johnson and DC Aaron Glenn.

The Raiders haven’t qualified for the playoffs since 2021. So, TB12 will likely have a free hand with all the changes he wants to make. The owner Mark Davis believes the 7-time Super Bowl winner can get it done and has given him major responsibility. However, the $375 million FOX deal isn’t exactly chump change.

Brady’s co-presenter Kevin Burkhardt has developed a sweet bond with the GOAT. And he doesn’t miss any chance to reaffirm the legend’s interest in broadcasting. It happened before the Lions–Commanders divisional playoff game.

While trying to gauge the former Patriots QB’s love for broadcasting, Burkhardt commented, “You’re stuck with me here at Fox for the next 10 years, whether you like it or not.” But Tom Brady had a smirk and replied, “Happily. I’d bite some kneecaps for you, K.B.” And he didn’t say that under any kind of pressure, from the league or elsewhere. His agent confirmed the same.

During an interview with the Sports Business Journal, Don Yee, Tom Brady’s agent confirmed that the legend liked his stint at FOX, traveling and meeting with players around the league. He further guaranteed that Brady would complete the remaining 9 years. That’s a huge reinforcement for the network which lost to CBS in regular season viewership this year.

After seeing Johnson’s and Glenn’s performance on the big stage, who will be his choice? Or will he look elsewhere now? Expect some major changes at the franchise as the hard taskmaster tries to make the Raiders a playoff team.
