Just a couple of weeks back, TMZ reported that Travis Kelce quietly unfollowed Ryan Reynolds on Instagram. Any other day, and this would’ve been casual gossip fodder. However, in light of the Blake Lively-Justin Baldoni drama, and Taylor Swift being roped in to potentially testify, Kelce’s move might not be so innocent after all. Reynolds, however, hasn’t returned the favor. He still follows the Chiefs star, which makes the unfollow even louder. And here’s the kicker: As per reports, Lively’s ongoing legal battle has strained her relationship with bestie, Taylor Swift.

So, Trav unfollowing Ryan could mean that he’s simply backing his girl here. Add this to the fact that Blake no longer follows Travis, while Taylor follows no one at all? Well, it doesn’t take a PR expert to know this isn’t just a glitch in the matrix. This was deliberate. Swifties saw it. The NFL fans saw it, too. But looks like Reynolds is not even bothered by the drama of it all. In fact, he’s currently focused on a more important part of his life.

Soccer and his love-hate (read: competitive) relationship with Tom Brady. Just to brush up your memory, both the Deadpool star and the former New England Patriots veteran are proud club team owners: Reynolds of the Wrexham AFC along with actor/producer Rob McElhenney, and Brady of the Birmingham City FC. And on May 20, they collaborated (sort of) in the most hilarious way!

In a joint Instagram reel with Birmingham City co-owner Tom Wagner, Reynolds made a playful but pointed request. “Wagner, I want the jersey,” he said. “This video stays between us, it’s to be seen by nobody but you. But I really want that jersey. I’m a huge Tom Brady fan, and I have been for a long time. He touched the jersey so now I want the jersey that he touched.” He then jokes about collecting a strand of Brady’s hair “for no reason, just for fun.” Brady reshared the video and added, “Transfer budget just went up 😂.” It was lighthearted, yes—but the video circles back to a much more problematic backstory.

Earlier this year, Tom Brady had reportedly gifted the signed Birmingham City jersey, with his No. 12 on the back, to McElhenney. The latter, though, didn’t waste a moment in shaming it. Taking to Instagram, McElhenney wrote how he “could not find a trash can big enough for it”. What’s more? The co-owner then donated it to Classic Football Shirts store in New York, and donated the proceeds to charity. “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure… it’s just not my treasure. It is indeed trash,” McElhenney had further written while giving it away.

Not long after, Brady’s co-owner Tom Wagner posted an Instagram Reel, where he was seen visiting the NY store and buying the kit back. Captioned, “God forbid we make a friendly gesture to @wrexham_afc. It’s the least we could do,” in the video Wagner said, “Not only will I buy back Tom’s kit from Rob, but I’d love to give this cheque to the Wrexham AFC Foundation. The initiative improves the lives of people, especially young people through sport. It is the least I can do after Rob did not appreciate this incredible gift from Tom. Shame on you, Rob.”

This public back-and-forth between the owners of Wrexham and Birmingham—clubs who battled for League One supremacy last season—has taken on a life of its own. Wrexham fell short by just a few points, finishing second to Brady’s Birmingham City. While Rob and Ryan broke records with a £2M move for Sam Smith, Birmingham dropped even more for Jay Stansfield. The financial arms race became a theater. But now, it’s not just about transfer budgets—it’s about pride, banter, and Brady. It’s also about proximity.

Both clubs will now face off again in the Championship next season. And while the rivalry simmers on the pitch, it’s the off-field antics that fans are tuning in for.

Ryan Reynolds didn’t give in to the media’s questions about Travis Kelce

You’d think Ryan Reynolds would flinch. Or at least blink. But no, he’s a veteran with all the PR training. Cameras caught him over the weekend in the first week of May, calmly signing autographs while a fan kept pushing: “What happened with Travis Kelce?” Not once. Multiple times. Loudly. And Reynolds? Unbothered. Zero eye contact. Not even a twitch. Just signed and moved.

So, why’d Travis really hit the eject button on Reynolds? One insider told The Daily Mail, “Travis unfollowed Ryan because he is fed up with the whole drama. It’s not just about the spectacle of it all. Travis is concerned that he could potentially be questioned too since he was with Taylor as some of this was going down.” You see the play? He’s not trying to get dragged downfield with flags flying around.

And look, things between Blake and Taylor? Some reports say they are patched up: “Blake knew she and Taylor would come back from this,” a People source said. Meanwhile, another report recently said that they are taking time away from each other. Now, which one’s true, only the duo knows. But don’t expect Ryan or Trav to drop a statement or clear the air. Because they’d dodge those questions.
