One of the greatest running backs of the sport is at risk of losing his trophies today. The former RB for the Seattle Seahawks hasn’t closed the door on returning to the NFL but hasn’t officially announced his return either. Now since his memorabilia and trophies are up for sale, the veteran is rightfully enraged.

Adrian Peterson was the pride and glory of the Seahawks. He last played in the 2021 season and hasn’t returned ever since. But it looks like the Texmax Auctions have decided that Peterson won’t be coming back to the gridiron for good. Maybe this was their motivation behind selling off Peterson’s prized possessions, including his 2012 MVP award. Additionally, Peterson has threatened to file a lawsuit against them, but his pleas have gone unheard as Texmax is still going forward with their decision to sell his memorabilia.

It all started when Peterson had granted the estate sale company access to several of his storage units with specific instructions to not touch his items. Despite this, his trophies and collectibles, worth over an estimated $10K were listed for an auction in the “Adrian Peterson Final Auction” hosted by Houston-based TexMax Auctions.

After it was revealed that Peterson’s collectibles were available for purchase, the fans went into a frenzy in trying to figure out how the former NFL star felt about it. However, it didn’t take Peterson long to address this situation by claiming that the auction was moving forward with the sale without his authorization and that he would be taking legal action.

But his cries have been ignored by the organization as his 2012 NFL MVP Award and Rookie of the Year Award among many other items are still on sale. With all that said, here’s a look at what Peterson had to say about the entire dilemma in a recent video.

“I would never sell my hard-earned trophies”– Peterson defends his financial status

Peterson has had a glorious career in the sport of football. His 2007 Rookie of the Year Trophy and the 2012 MVP trophy are clear indications of a successful NFL career. However, while the fans suspect that the former RB is broke despite having made a total of $100 million in income, Peterson was quick to debunk these rumors.

He stated in his recent video and said, “They clearly did something unlawful. I want to emphasize that I am financially stable, and would never sell off my hard-earned trophies. And if I was gonna sell them, I know people that I can sell them to. I wouldn’t go online and sell my personal items, so let that sink in.” Thus, the fans are on the verge of their seats as they wait for the TexMax Auctions to take down the items off sale in honor of Peterson’s legacy.
