In his recent talk on Club Shay Shay, Ric Flair delved into a personal topic where he shared his sad family story. He admitted to Shannon Sharpe that it took him five days to break the news of his father’s passing to his mother. The 74-year-old recounted how the news shattered her, driving her to stick to her window till her last breath.  

Ric Flair told Sharpe, “She never stopped looking out the window for two years and she died two years later and she never spoke.” His parents had always been supportive of him, bracing with him through ups and downs.

While talking about them, Flair also delved into how close they were and how they functioned as a unit, spent time together, and how they impacted his life. In an emotional state, the pro wrestler confessed, “Even though I didn’t do anything that is illegal or anything bad, I just feel like I didn’t do them justice because they were such good people.”

Trouble in relationships and family life 

Flair has had unstable relationships over the years. Although a legend in his profession, he still finds it hard to maintain a good family balance because of his wrestling career. The legend has been married five times but failed to establish a lasting relationship with his partners because he was constantly on the road.

The pro wrestler told Theo Von about his relationship with his first wife, Leslie Goodman with whom he has two kids. He said, “We get along to this day, we never had an argument. She just said this is not what I signed up for. I said I’ll buy you a bigger house because I don’t care. I don’t. I’ve been spending my life alone. Because once got get on the road, if you’re successful, as you know, it’s fun.” But it looks like the legend is happy with the choice that he made.
