Gisele Bündchen’s mother, Vnia Nonnenmacher, passed away at the age of 75, succumbing to cancer at the Hospital Moinhos de Vento in Porto Alegre, Brazil. The news was confirmed by the hospital, where Nonnenmacher had been admitted on Friday. Gisele Bündchen recently made a public statement about her mother’s passing. 

Vnia Nonnenmacher, a retired bank teller, played a central role in raising the supermodel in a hardworking middle-class family in Horizontina, Brazil. Bündchen has often shared moments and memories with her mother on social media, expressing her love and admiration.

 In a 2010 blog entry, Bündchen wrote about her mother’s dedication to the family, calling her a hero and the core of their family. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Bündchen expressed the pain of no longer being able to hug her mother while celebrating her as an earthly angel, always extending help to others. The supermodel wrote words of tribute, “Thank you for giving me five best friends for life. Your love will always guide us.” 

She thanked Nonnenmacher for being a role model of love, strength, compassion, courage, and grace. Bündchen pledged to cherish the shared memories and uphold the values learned. Expressing gratitude for her five sisters, she acknowledged Nonnenmacher’s enduring love that will continue to guide them.
