In 2018, Patrick Mahomes was asked by Mike Florio about when he realized that he had a great arm. Mahomes, who has played baseball since his childhood, gave the answer and claimed he realized it when he was playing T-ball.
Talking about it, Mahomes said, “Yeah, I think it was like T-ball. I remembered I had to move up in t-ball and I would be slinging the ball to the first baseman. At one point, they told me I had to roll the ball there because I was throwing too hard. That’s probably when I figured out I had a strong arm.”

The Chiefs QB1 added, “The main one was the T-ball story. I mean, the full story is I got moved up because there were two different T-ball leagues. One for the older kids, and one for mine, I moved up with the older kids division, I was playing shortstop and they gave me a ground ball practice and I threw it over the first base, just how I thought you were supposed to throw it, and actually hit the kids at first base in the glasses, and broke his glasses. So, they told me I had to roll it from then on.”
Patrick Mahomes was a very versatile player on the diamond. He could pitch well, play shortstop, and even hit bombs while batting. If not for football, he might have become a skilled athlete in the MLB.
Patrick Mahomes’ arm strength will be put to test in the upcoming season
The 2022 season might be the biggest season for Patrick Mahomes in his young NFL career. After a meltdown in the AFC Championship Game against the Bengals, Mahomes would look to bounce back.

He will be without his former WR1, Tyreek Hill. Due to this, there will be more pressure on him to prove people wrong. Mahomes still has a fantastic group of offensive weapons that can cause havoc on any defense in the league.
