In 2018, Patrick Mahomes was asked by Mike Florio about when he realized that he had a great arm. Mahomes, who has played baseball since his childhood, gave the answer and claimed he realized it when he was playing T-ball.

Talking about it, Mahomes said, Yeah, I think it was like T-ball. I remembered I had to move up in t-ball and I would be slinging the ball to the first baseman. At one point, they told me I had to roll the ball there because I was throwing too hard. That’s probably when I figured out I had a strong arm.”

The Chiefs QB1 added, The main one was the T-ball story. I mean, the full story is I got moved up because there were two different T-ball leagues. One for the older kids, and one for mine, I moved up with the older kids division, I was playing shortstop and they gave me a ground ball practice and I threw it over the first base, just how I thought you were supposed to throw it, and actually hit the kids at first base in the glasses, and broke his glasses. So, they told me I had to roll it from then on.”

Patrick Mahomes was a very versatile player on the diamond. He could pitch well, play shortstop, and even hit bombs while batting. If not for football, he might have become a skilled athlete in the MLB.

Patrick Mahomes’ arm strength will be put to test in the upcoming season
