Whether it is the NFL, NBA, or MLB, New York City continues to be one of the biggest sports markets in the world. Serving as a home to the Jets, Giants, Yankees, and Knicks, the New York fanbase continues holding their athletes to a certain level of eliteness. And the same expectation has been put on the 4x MVP Aaron Rodgers. Despite, muscling his way to New York, questions about A-Rod and his commitment still linger, but thankfully another New York legend has his trust in the Jets’ QB1.
With Aaron Rodgers landing with the Jets, all eyes will be fixated on the upcoming season and whether the franchise can secure a playoff spot. Alex Rodriguez trusts Aaron Rodgers
After spending 18 years in a Green Bay Packers uniform, the Jets’ experience would have to be an adjustment for Aaron Rodgers. However, the Jets have since shipped many of Rodgers’ former teammates to the New York franchise in a bid to make A-Rod feel at home. But the Jets’ front office isn’t the only one showcasing their confidence in Aaron Rodgers and his abilities.
Recently, MLB legend and former New York Yankee, Alex Rodriguez had some kind words to share about Rodgers and the New York experience.
“First of all, I mean, he’s so much more mature than I was. You know, he’s very, very, very smart. And he’s ready to go right. He’s a first-ballot Hall of Famer. Hopefully, you can do some great things with the Jets. I know New York is thrilled to have him.” expressed Rodriguez.
He further continued that the city of New York has embraced Rodgers, and it makes him happy to see that Aaron Rodgers has been doing the same. Whether it’s showing up at New York concerts, or turning eyes at Knicks’ games, Rodgers seems to have found himself a new home, quite similar to what Alex Rodriguez went through all those years ago.

History repeats itself
Aaron Rodgers is following in the footsteps of Brett Favre. Whether it’s Rodgers taking over from Favre back in Green Bay or making the transition to New York, the circle of life feels evident. However, Rodgers also shares a few common threads with MLB legend Alex Rodriguez.
Back in December 2000, Rodriguez signed a $252 million, 10-year deal with Texas. Just four years later, he was traded to the Yankees. The Yankees at the time acquired both Rodriguez and his contract, similar to what the Jets have done with Rodgers.

However, Rodriguez did make some bad calls along the way, especially with his contract. He eventually opted out and the re-negotiations seemed a long way from home. While that is all water under the bridge now, the damage was indeed real. Maybe that is why Rodriguez believes that Rodgers is much well equipped than him in navigating the chaos and even learn from the mistakes that Rodriguez made along the way.
