Michael Jordan is back in Carolina. No, not that one but the offensive linesman for the Carolina Panthers. They initially acquired the former fourth-round pick, off of waivers from Cincinnati Bengals in 2021. However, the 25-year-old didn’t find much playing time, starting only 10 games in his first year in the league. Although the name Michael Jordan holds a different kind of gravitas in Carolina, the same level of success hasn’t followed the guard for the Panthers.

Despite figuring out the specifics, fans insisted on having their fair share of fun with Michael Jordan, and honestly, we can’t blame them.

A chance at redemption

Turns out you can never have enough pass rushers and offensive linemen, and the Panthers’ GM Scott Fitterer is completely embodying that sentiment. In the past two seasons, Fitterer has left no stone unturned to add to the depth in these two areas. However, there are only limited spots for the actual games.

Despite not getting much playing time, this season could be a different story for Michael Jordan as the Panthers’ starting guard Austin Corbett is recovering from a torn ACL suffered in January. Jordan would have to compete with NC State standout Chandler Zavala and long-time veteran Justin McCray for the starting spot. But then again you can’t shy away from competition, especially if your name is Michael Jordan.
