The fairways became a stage for the clash of titans from the sports and entertainment worlds this week. Days before the highly anticipated clash with NBA superstars Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, fans witnessed the ultimate collision of talent and generosity as Patrick Mahomes‘ special charity venture reached new heights on the golf course! Yes, Travis Kelce was there. However, it wasn’t the dynamic QB-tight end duo that stole the show this week. Instead, it was the 2x Super Bowl MVP’s predecessor that caught all the attention.

Before the Kansas City Chiefs drafted future gunslinger Patrick Mahomes in 2017, the Chiefs Kingdom roared for their 3x Pro Bowler passer, Alex Smith. And Mahomes extending the invitation to Smith simply overwhelmed the fans and spectators.

It was a starry affair this week in Hawaii. The celebrities gathered for Patrick Mahomes’ 3rd Annual ’15 And The Mahomies’ charity golf event, Aloha Golf Classic. Present at the course besides Mahomes and his better half, Brittany, were Travis Kelce, NBA player Chandler Parsons, actor Rob Riggle, and stand-up comedian cum podcaster Andrew Santino. However, fans appreciated the presence of $100 million-worth former Washington and KC signal-caller Alex Smith the most.

Love seeing Alex Smith!!” one fan commented. “Makes my heart happy how you are still really close with Alex Smith! You’re the 🐐 man!” another chimed in for Mahomes. “Great to see Alex Smith there having fun and having the CREW all together again!” one fan perfectly summed it up.

A special fire show and after-party followed the golf event in association with Coors Light. “Thank you to all of our partners and supporters. This would not be possible without you,” Mahomes said in the official Instagram post.

The ’15 And The Mahomies’ foundation was established in 2019 by the reigning Lombardi champion. The charity aims to improve the lives of children by focusing on initiatives of “health, wellness, communities in need of resources and other charitable causes,” as per the official website.

June 29 will witness the Chiefs’ superstars clash on the greens with Golden State Warriors legends Curry and Thompson for the much-awaited Capital One’s The Match. A celebrated golfing event besides the prime PGA major and tour events since its inception during the pandemic, this year’s showdown will take place at the Wynn Golf Club in Las Vegas.

While the golf professionals put in their predictions, tight end Kelce sent a word of warning to Steph Curry and Thompson this week. “The message right now is we’ve never lost in Vegas. As a team, we beat everybody at Justin Timberlake’s golf tournament (last year), and then obviously the Raiders. We haven’t lost to the Raiders yet. And I don’t even want to say yet, we’ve just never lost in Vegas, so that’s the bottom line,” Kelce said.
