The Minnesota Vikings have been a surprise package this season, as they have one of the best records in the NFL right now. This Sunday, they beat the Jets in a tight game to prove their credibility further. Meanwhile, the Vikings running back, Alexander Mattison, garnered a little bit of controversy in that game because of his celebration. While celebrating, he appeared to pull his hamstring and then went down and twerked in front of the whole stadium. After that, the NFL had to take a drastic step, which got the attention of NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal as well.

Notably, the Vikings players often invent new celebrations, which have been really fun to watch. Earlier, this season, Harrison Smith did the bowling celebration, which became really popular among fans. However, Mattison may have taken it too far with his latest celebration.

Shaquille O’Neal and fans react to Alexander Mattison getting fined for his twerk celebration

According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, the NFL fined Mattison $6,503 for his twerking celebration. He also joked, “That’s $2,167 per twerk.”

Later, Shaquille O’Neal took to Instagram and shared the news on his story as well. On the other hand, fans on social media started posting hilarious comments about Mattison receiving the fine. One person posed a question and said, “How u come up w exactly $6,503?

On the other hand, fans started comparing the NFL and the NBA. I can’t tell which league is getting softer the NBA or the NFL, one user wrote. Another person called the NFL ‘dramatic’ for fining Mattison for something like this. One person called the NFL, “It is the no fun league after all.

Meanwhile, some fans blasted the Vikings RB for doing something so silly on National TV. No grown man should be twerking on national tv,” one person on Instagram wrote. One fan hilariously referred to the American comedy show, ‘Key and Peele’, and bashed Mattison for twerking too many times. 

Later, Mattison also reacted to the news as he took to Twitter and wrote, They share it like crazy.. then fine you like crazy smh… And I just wanna know who sits there and comes up with these random number amounts for fines.

Although Mattison received a fine, he did not receive any sort of ban from the NFL, which is good news for the Vikings, as they are flying high at the moment. With 10 wins, they are already conquering the NFC North division. It will be interesting to see if they get the overall  No 1 seed in the NFC, which will give them a massive chance to reach the Super Bowl and possibly win it.
