In the world of football, it is common for players to receive harsh criticisms and backlashes at several stages of their careers. But when players start receiving such hatred comments despite achieving so much in their careers, it becomes heart-wrecking for both players and their supporters. Recently, the Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson and Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes were criticized by anonymous defensive coordinators for their unorthodox game plays and referred to them as second-tier QBs. However, stars from the sports fraternity like Robert Griffin III and LeBron James came in support with their furious responses against the slander.
On Monday, The Athletic’s Mike Sando released exclusive segmented QB standing based on the votes of 50 anonymous executives from the NFL world. The standings were purely based on the choices made by these mentors and their comments to the players. That’s when some of the defensive coordinators gave shocking feedback to both quarterbacks.

“We love Mahomes because of his unorthodox throws, not because of his natural pocket presence,” the coach said. “And when that disappears, that is when they lose games. I don’t think that is a 1, I think that is a 2. Nothing against the guy. I love the kid. But take his first read away, and what does he do? He runs, he scrambles, and he plays streetball.” it reads.
Another executive gave Lamar Jackson similar feedback. He thinks that Jackson can never be a Tier 1 quarterback, even if he wins 12 MVPs in his career.

“This Coordinator either got fired or cursed the hell out after getting torched vs LJ! Hating a**” he wrote. Soon, the former Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III came forward to defend the dignity of Patrick Mahomes.
How did Robert Griffin III call out the haters?
Being one of the most active veterans on the internet, it took no time for Griffin to extend his support for the signal callers. He knows what it takes to be a quarterback and the sacrifices it requires to become a tier 1 quarterback. He urged the coordinators to accept the fact that there are several ways to win games in pro football.

Stop screaming for them to get off your lawn and accept that there is more than one way to win,” Griffin wrote on Twitter.

Indeed, winning a Super Bowl at an age of 24 years is an incredible achievement for Patrick Mahomes. Similarly, Lamar Jacket led the side to three playoff appearances in his career, which is another feather in a quarterback’s cap. Hopefully, the duo will respond to such hatred through their actions in the upcoming season.
