The NFL Draft is only 18 days away and the stakes have never been higher. All the youngsters are on the edge of their seats, hoping to be drafted by their favorite teams. At the peak of competition are Marvin Harrison Jr. and Malik Nabers for the number 1 WR spot.

Marvin Harrison Jr., the wide receiver for the Ohio State Buckeyes, has made a name for himself in the 2023 season with a phenomenal performance. He was the two-time unanimous All-American winner and now that he’s declared for the NFL Draft, he will be trying to live up to the expectations of being his father’s son. For Malik Nabers, he’s already dominating the Draft conversations for being a ball of raw talent. It will be difficult to predict which one out of the two ends up taking the top spot but an NFL analyst’s opinion might help put things in perspective.

On the latest episode of the ‘After Further Review: LSU’ show on YouTube, host Matt Moscona shared his thoughts on the Malik Nabers versus Marvin Harrison Jr. debate. Later, the segment followed an audio recording of NFL reporter, Cameron Wolfe, sharing his thoughts on the situation and recalling his interaction with Nabers’ agents.

Wolfe said, “You talk about Harrison and his smoothness, his route running, his pedigree. When you talk about Malik Nabers, I hear the word dog, elite route runner, elite run-after-catch ability and you can’t miss that 4.35 he ran on that 40-yard dash. I talked to Malik Naber’s agent and they raved about how competitive he is. He talks a lot of trash and you can feel Malik Nabers’ energy at his Pro Day. He told me, “I’m a dog! Stop playing with me. I’m the best wide receiver in this draft.

Moreover, Marvin Harrison Sr. was the former wide receiver for the Indianapolis Colts for over 13 seasons, which also saw him playing alongside Peyton Manning. As his son steps into the NFL this year, it is evident that the comparisons to him will arise no matter what. But as Nabers continues to outperform Harrison, will his father’s legacy be enough to land him a top spot? With all that said, the Cardinals seem to have decided who they’re going for and it just might be the Buckeyes’ WR.

The Arizona Cardinals have a meeting with Marvin Harrison Jr.

The NFL Draft might just be going in the Cardinals’ favor this year since they have the fourth pick overall, giving them a chance to bring in the supposed best wide receiver from the 2023 class. Harrison played two seasons for the Buckeyes and averaged 1,200 yards in both those seasons. As such, it isn’t shocking that the fans keep drawing comparisons to his Hall of Famer father.

On Friday, the Arizona Cardinals called in Marvin Harrison Jr. in Tempe for an official top-30 visit. Additionally, the Cardinals’ scouts met the youngster at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis and now might be bringing him to the team for the upcoming season. There is a strong possibility that the Cardinals could bring in Harrison, but if there’s anything that can be said for certain, the ball could spin either way as the Draft is known to be unpredictable and surprising at each turn.
