The pride of the Bulldogs is being projected to sit at the top of the table in next year’s Draft and yet, a lot of doubts surround his future in the upcoming season. With a supposed glorious future for the team, Beck’s individual performance is still in question even after a tremendous 2023 season.

Carson Beck, the quarterback for the Georgia Bulldogs, was the spine behind his team’s overall success last season. He recorded over 3,941 in passing yards and finished a staggering amount of 24 touchdowns. Hands down, he is the best QB in the 2023 class and yet, the NFL analysts still seem to have their set of reservations about his talent.

On the May 11th episode of the On3 YouTube show, Andy Staples and Cody Bellaire break down the future of the Bulldogs in 2024. Later, they dove into a segment where they predicted a great future for the team with their worst performance still coming out to 9 wins but in that process, they ended up sidelining Beck’s talent.

Bellaire said, “You look at the guys they lose in terms of skill and offense right? You have to replace Brock Bowers, you lose both your leading rushers and maybe Carson Beck isn’t someone that’s dynamic enough to carry the offense on his back for the entire season. Maybe they slip up and lose to Alabama week four. Maybe they go into Austin, face new SEC foe in Texas in week seven that could go either way. They go on the road to Old Miss two weeks later. I don’t even know if this is entirely likely but at worst, Georgia wins nine games.”

Thus, even though Georgia is highlighted to be an exceptional squad this season, Carson Beck will have to work for his flowers as he continues to be touted as a number-one pick in the 2025 draft. With all that said, here’s what the Georgia HC, Kirby Smart, had to say about his prized quarterback and his return to the college team.

Carson Beck had the opportunity to enter the transfer portal in 2024 but eventually decided to dedicate his last year of eligibility to his beloved team. Due to his staying back, a lot of the players also ended up foregoing their decision to declare for the NFL Draft. As such, it makes sense that Smart was more than grateful for Beck’s loyalty to Georgia, as was seen in his statement about the star QB.

Smart said, “He expects he can grow and extend his NFL career by being at Georgia for another year. He did a really good job of researching things. He had a lot of help around him. There was no right or wrong for him. He made the decision that fit him best. His long-term goal is to play in the NFL for a long time. He wants to prepare a little more and win some games while he’s doing it. It’s certainly big for us. It had a major impact on recruiting and guys deciding to stay with him.”

It seems Beck might just be the Bulldogs’ biggest weapon as they pursue their dreams of a third championship in four years, something which continues to evade the team.
