In a recent press conference, Joe Hortiz emphasized the importance of using draft picks to establish a solid foundation, a strategy reminiscent of his success with previous teams in Baltimore. Given Los Angeles’ tight cap situation, they’re unlikely to make big moves in free agency, opting instead for smaller signings. Two veteran centers expected to be cut for the Chargers

As the Chargers look to solidify their roster for the 2024 search there are two veteran centers, with previous ties with head coach Jim Harbaugh and Joe Hortiz, who are expected to be brought on board. They might “sign a veteran to give them some flexibility for the draft,” and “Mason Cole (Steelers) and Bradley Bozeman (Panthers),” are great prospects. Bradley Bozeman is a talented American football center who currently plays for the Carolina Panthers in the NFL. Bozeman began his career at the University of Alabama, winning two CFP national championships, and was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in 2018. He quickly became a key player before joining the Panthers in 2022. Bozeman’s consistent performance as the Panthers’ starting center has been vital, leading to a contract extension in 2023.

Mason Cole, on the other hand, is a versatile American football center, who currently thrives with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the NFL. Starting his journey at the University of Michigan, Cole made an immediate impact as a true freshman, earning All-Big Ten honors during his college tenure. Drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in 2018, he showcased his adaptability by excelling at multiple positions. After a brief stint with the Minnesota Vikings, Cole joined the Steelers in 2022, adding depth and skill to their offensive line. With 60 NFL games and 39 starts to his name, Cole’s journey reflects resilience and dedication, both on and off the field.

The Chargers draft needs a revival in 2024

The Los Angeles Chargers head into the 2024 draft with several key areas in need of improvement to strengthen their roster.
