The LA Chargers are on a mission to redefine the squad for the upcoming season and so far, they’ve been able to make the most out of the transfer window and on a budget too. Jim Harbaugh, the head coach for the Chargers, joined the team in January after Michigan’s exceptional 2023 season and with the help of the Spanos family, he’s been adding new transfers and releasing old players.

Additionally, the Chargers were reported to be enduring a negative- $44,023 million in cap space. This means that the team will have to let go of expensive players and hopefully bring in new transfers that don’t cost too much during this transfer window. And it appears that’s exactly what Jim Harbaugh and general manager Joe Hortiz did.

In the latest report, Jim Harbaugh and GM Hortiz have brought in three players to the Chargers, namely running back Gus Edwards, tight end Will Dissly, and safety Alohi Gilman. What’s brilliant about this transfer is that all three players were purchased for little over 13.5 million.

More specifically, Edwards has been brought in with a salary of $3.4 million per year, Dissly for $4.6 million per year, and Gilman for $5.5 million per year. These new players are being brought in after Harbaugh decided to release Khalil Mack, Joey Bosa, and Mike Williams either through trade or free agency.

And after 8 seasons with the Chargers, Joey Bosa is being released to maintain the Chargers’ salary cap. But while Bosa will be looking for a new team, here is him talking about Harbaugh and their heartfelt interaction.

Joey Bosa talks about having confidence in Jim Harbaugh’s capabilities

Joey Bosa, the former linebacker for the Chargers, was a top-notch defensive player for the team. He was selected third overall by the team during the 2016 NFL Draft and was also named the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year. He’s been a vital part of the Chargers for so long but unfortunately like all good things, his time has also come to an end. Regardless of the sad news, he talked about the special qualities that Jim Harbaugh possesses and what makes him a great coach.

Bosa said, “I think he seems like a really genuine guy, which you don’t find that a lot in coaches all the time. He’s interesting. He loves football more than anything. I think all he wants to do is win. The way he talked about his feelings toward this job and toward the future was pretty exciting.” Thus, as the fans wish him well for the future, it is evident that Bosa has no negative words to say about the new HC and will continue to hold that perspective strongly.
