Nick Saban’s prized jewel is shining brighter than ever at the NFL Draft and has his mother to thank for everything. It was unfortunate that Terrion Arnold was a part of Saban’s only class that didn’t win a national championship but by the looks of it, he is heading towards a prosperous NFL career.

Terrion Arnold, the former cornerback for the Alabama Crimson Tide, has found his new home with the men in Blue. With the number 24 pick, the Detroit Lions are bringing in one of Alabama’s finest after agreeing to a trade with Dallas. Arnold decided to credit all his success to his mother in a recent tweet that has moved the fans massively.

From being a 2-star Alabama prospect to a 2024 NFL Draft first-round pick, Arnold has made it a long way and it wouldn’t have been the same without his mother’s devoted support. In Terrion Arnold’s tweet from April 27, he expressed his love and gratitude for his mother Tamala Arnold now that he’s stepping foot into the NFL with the Detroit Lions. Moreover, he emphasized the struggles and the hardships Tamala had to face to see Arnold succeed and how it has finally paid off.

Arnold’s tweet read, “I was able to uplift you at the combine, and I just want to say again. Thank you for everything you sacrificed for me, now it’s time for you to get your blessings.” The mother-son duo posed for the camera in matching pink outfits and will now be celebrating Arnold’s transition from Alabama to Detroit, where the youngster is set to begin his legacy as a cornerback. With all that said, here is a look at what Brad Holmes, the GM of the Lions, had to say about Arnold and how his availability took him by surprise.

In an interesting coincidence, the Lions have drafted an Alabama player in the first round for three consecutive years. They selected Jameson Williams in 2022 at number 12 and then drafted Jahmyr Gibbs in the same spot in 2023. But what took Holmes by surprise was the fact that Arnold was still available to pick.

He said, “I’m still kind of, ‘Never thought he’d be there.” Holmes further added, “It doesn’t always match up that way. I’m sure you’ve heard me say a million times I don’t care what position it is, we’re going to get the best player. It happened to match the best player and an area where we wanted to add one at some time. We didn’t know if we were going to be able to add one in the first round.”

Arnold’s talent has echoed throughout the NFL and as such, he just might be a great fit in Detroit where he could finally be the key that leads them to their first-ever Super Bowl game.
