The star of the Michigan Wolverines has impressed the world of football yet again. Harbaugh’s crown jewel announced his decision to declare for the NFL Draft after an exceptional 2023 season and the fans couldn’t be more excited for the QB to showcase his skills in the league of the legends.

J.J. McCarthy, the quarterback for the Michigan Wolverines, was the pride and glory of his team in the last season. He was one of the best candidates for the Heisman Trophy before losing out the race to Jayden Daniels. Despite the odds stacked against the Wolverines, he was able to lead the team to a 15-0 undefeated streak before finally winning the natty championship. And now as his draft stock continues to be on the rise, a recent review of McCarthy will place him amongst the top-rated QBs as the Draft draws near.

While several top-speculated QBs like Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Jayden Daniels chose to sit out the Combine workouts and not participate in the throws, it was McCarthy who saved the magic of the national event with a spectacular show. Additionally, he demonstrated that arm strength isn’t an issue for him when he recorded his throw at 61mph, which is the second-best throw at the Combine right after Josh Allen and Joe Milton.

In a recent statement by Matt Miller, he complimented McCarthy’s skills and said, “JJ McCarthy throwing session lasted about 25 minutes. It was clean—just two clear misses. He showcased zip and touch while hitting a lot of deep routes. He told me he wanted to show his touch placement and did well there. McCarthy has easy power and velocity.” Thus, as he continues to increase his chances of landing with the best teams in the NFL, here are his former coach, Jim Harbaugh’s words for the youngster.

Jim Harbaugh predicted that JJ McCarthy would be the number 1 QB at the Draft

If you’re a true college football fan, then you know all about Harbaugh’s liking for his former QB, J.J. McCarthy. Their dynamic duo was the pivotal reason for Michigan’s dominant run last season and could hopefully continue at the LA Chargers, as some reports suggest. While Harbaugh’s far-fetched praise for McCarthy has taken to some unprecedented heights before, his predictions for the NFL Draft surely take the cake.

Harbaugh said, “Arm talent, athleticism, it-factor, winning with numbing repetition. Don’t be surprised if, when he’s the No. 1 quarterback off the board. That’s my prediction right now. Talk about ‘it-factor,’ he’s got it. The competitiveness that he has, and they get around him, and they really start digging in, and they start talking to him.” Thus, as McCarthy’s chances at the Draft await him, it is evident that Harbaugh would want the QB all for himself as he tries to bring him to the LA Chargers in a desperate attempt.
