The Michigan Wolverines are reportedly set to shine as the draft spotlight shifts to Detroit, Michigan. NFL insider and Michigan alum Adam Schefter reported that the home team will receive a special “salute” to kick off the second day of drafting. “To kick off the start of Day Two of the NFL Draft at 7 pm ET, the NFL will salute members of the Michigan Wolverines 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship team,” wrote Schefter on X.

Kris Jenkins gets picked by the Bengals

RB Blake Corum, DB Mike Sainristil, LB Junior Colson, and Kris Jenkins, the defensive tackle, eagerly await their names in Detroit on Friday for the 2024 NFL draft. As of the time of writing, Kris Jenkins has already been selected by the Cincinnati Bengals with the 49th overall pick in the second round.

Jenkins was a four-year player at Michigan and played a pivotal role in anchoring one of the best defensive lines in football, contributing to three Big Ten championships and their national championship win in 2023. Throughout his college career spanning 37 games, Jenkins amassed 112 tackles, four sacks, one interception, and one fumble recovery.

Jenkins showcased exceptional athleticism at the combine, posting one of the best tests among defensive tackle prospects since 1987 with a relative athletic score (RAS) of 9.55. Notably, he recorded a 4.91-second 40-yard dash, a 30-inch vertical jump, and a 9-foot 7-inch broad jump while weighing 299 pounds.

Now, as a rookie player for the Bengals, it will be intriguing to watch how Jenkins adapts to the new environment of the NFL.
