The star of Harbaugh’s team receives his fair share of flowers from his former teammate which sheds a different light on his character. While Herbert is going to be the edge of the sword that Harbaugh’s new roster is going to rely on, Bo Nix spoke highly of his former Oregon teammate, putting a unique perspective on how the QB is off the field.

Justin Herbert, the quarterback for the Los Angeles Chargers, is the pride and glory of the team as they prepare to head into the 2024 season. Harbaugh has previously claimed to be starstruck by Herbert during the days of his arrival with the Chargers. Additionally, the Chargers showed tremendous faith in his capabilities by selecting him as the 6th pick during the 2020 NFL Draft. He’s proven time and time again that he’s willing to do everything for his team and Bo Nix took to the mic to confirm these beliefs about Herbert.

Nix said, “Justin, you know he’s a quiet reserve guy but he leads his team as well as anybody and Marcus is the same way. They’re just authentic guys that you know they don’t necessarily make it about them and they don’t make it bigger than what it has to be. They just go out there and play football and they play it at a really high level. I respect both of those guys and have seen them have success and how they’ve done it and you know, it teaches me a lot about the situation.”

It is evident that Nix has a lot of love and respect for Herbert and as he looks into making a big name for himself in the NFL, he will be looking to the Chargers’ QB for guidance and inspiration. With all that said, here’s the LA Times speaking highly of Herbert by comparing him to the Black Mamba himself.

Just like Kobe Bryant

It’s been 3 years since Herbert has been with the LA Chargers now. Though he’s meant to be the spine of the team’s glory, he hasn’t demonstrated elite statistics yet. But in Week 15, he led the Chargers to a 17-14 win over the Tennessee Titans with a phenomenal performance. As such, the LA Times gave an admirable review of the youngster in a recent statement.

They wrote, “It’s like witnessing a young Kobe Bryant. A fresh Mike Trout. A clean-shaven Clayton Kershaw. A cradle filled with greatness. The start of something enormous and enchanting.

Additionally, they termed him as one of the greatest young quarterbacks in the history of the NFL. Though Herbert still has a long way to go, he could very well be a legend with Brady-like status if he keeps at it. Moreover, ever since Harbaugh’s arrival, Herbert is set to be a starting QB and prove the haters wrong as he pursues his dreams of his first Super Bowl.
