The Chicago Bears seem like the real winners of the NFL Draft by landing two top picks that might lead them to a lot of glory this season. What’s surprising is that while both of them will be playing for the same team for the first time, they developed an uncanny friendship way before the Draft itself.

Caleb Williams, the former QB at USC, and Rome Odunze, the former WR for the Washington Huskies, were two of the best players to come out of the 2023 class. While Williams was definitely touted to end up with the Bears, Odunze’s arrival to the city of Chicago didn’t seem to be in the cards. Additionally, Caleb and Odunze took on each other’s team several times in the NCAA and now they’re ready to fuse their powers in the NFL, through a pre-curated friendship.

Carmen Vitali appeared on the latest episode of the Up and Adams Show to discuss the bright future of the Chicago Bears with the drafting of Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze. Though they were considered rivals to be back during their college days, Vitali revealed that they formed a friendship even before they were both picked by the Bears.

Vitali said, “With Rome, clearly him and Caleb already. have a rapport. They were working out and had a throwing session with DJ Moore and Keenan Allen the week before the draft before either Caleb Williams or Rome Odunze were Chicago Bears yet. They were on the same flight to Detriot, they’re going to grow up together in the city of Chicago, so that when it is Rome’s time to take over his wide receiver one.” Moreover, their explosive dynamic is sure to establish the Bears’ legacy in the NFL, which begins now. With all that said, here’s the former legendary quarterback for the Bears, Jim McMahon advising the new redefined Chicago team.
