The king of the Colorado Buffaloes had mighty words to say about the prince of the team and his chances of being a top QB at the Draft. Deion’s team didn’t have a lot of key moments from their 2023 season but if it was one thing that stood out was Shedeur’s persistent resilience. And it is because of his determination and skill that Deion thinks he could be one of the best QBs at the Draft, right behind Caleb Williams.
Shedeur Sanders, the quarterback for the Colorado Buffaloes, was the pride and glory of the team last season. Even though in retrospect, his efforts didn’t surmount the team’s overall success, Shedeur’s performance didn’t go unnoticed. For a while, he was one of the top candidates for the Heisman Trophy as well before eventually losing the race to Jayden Daniels.

In a recent clip from Deion’s press conferences that is making the rounds, he had a strong prediction to make about his son Shedeur’s future and it has left all the fans in awe of his confidence. Shedeur Sanders, the quarterback for the Colorado Buffaloes, will be playing his last season with the team this year, after which he will be declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft. But when Deion was posed with a question on where Shedeur would stand in this year’s NFL Draft, he had a bold statement to say.

Deion said, “When I speak, I’m not just throwing stuff out of my head, I’m throwing stuff based on knowledge. So let’s just get that straight. If Shedeur would’ve gone in the Draft this year, he probably would’ve been the second.. he wouldn’t have been the first quarterback off the board. I think he had the ability but he probably would’ve been the second quarterback off the board. Let’s just get that straight.”

Recently, Caleb Williams was reported to not want to be picked by the Chicago Bears since the cold weather would affect him on a physical level. Seeing as Williams is from California, a naturally warm area, going to Chicago would be a drastic change from the climate he’s accustomed to. This could very well affect his playing style as well as his mental state to try and adapt to the city.
Each move the Bears have made this offseason has made it even more clear they plan to draft a quarterback in the first round.
