On the April 20th episode of the Pivot Podcast, the Trojans’ QB invited the hosts to his home to talk about the upcoming 2024 Draft and the mindset he has stepping into the NFL. While all his conversations were great, he ended up causing a frenzy among the fans by saying, “I want to play at one place for 20 years and chase one guy- No.12.” For the fans, this seems like an utter insult to Brady’s legacy, who is quite popularly known as the best player in football history.

This fan reacted to Williams’ statement by hitting him with a personal remark. He said, “Guys who paint their nails shouldn’t be allowed to play football, only dress up.” Moreover, Caleb’s sense of fashion has been a longstanding issue with the fans, but the worst was yet to come. Many others have taken offense to Williams’ remark about Brady.

The fans react harshly to Williams’ bold prediction

Caleb Williams is certainly an ambitious young player with a mindset to match. He’s been talking about how he wants to win 8 Super Bowls in his career, just one more than the legendary Tom Brady of the New England Patriots. But since Williams hasn’t even played an NFL game yet, the fans find it hard to take him seriously.

One user used two brutal words to try to give Williams a reality check by saying, “Settle down.”

This fan outrightly emphasized the possibility of such a situation and wrote, “Not gonna happen.” It doesn’t look like Williams has a lot of support for the big predictions he has to make, but maybe time will be his best friend.

This user took a shot at the legacy of the Chicago Bears by writing, “Can’t chase 12 in Chicago it’s impossible to win their” Though the typo did take something away from the harsh judgment, it is evident that the Bears don’t hold a lot of power among the history of the NFL.

Lastly, this X user didn’t hold back at all and tried to tell Williams to get his feet back on the ground. He said, “He’s gonna bust. People talking about him like he’s going to be a HoF player. He’s talking about being the GOAT. Just make the playoffs this year on a stacked team.”

Is Williams justified in making such claims? Can the rookie QB prove his mettle to fans? Things will surely be clearer once the season commences!
