Michael Penix Jr., the quarterback for the Washington Huskies, has had a topsy-turvy time ahead of the upcoming NFL Draft. He’s known to be a fifth or sixth quarterback behind the likes of Williams, Maye, McCarthy, etc but according to Deion, he should be way higher. As such, he chose to respond immediately when Robert Griffin’s analysis of Penix’s talents ranked him way higher in the Draft.

On 22 April, Robert Griffin III, the former quarterback for the Washington Redskins, took to X to discuss the impressive passing skills of Michael Penix Jr. and declared him as the best “PURE PASSER” in the 2023 class. Moreover, Griffin’s tape-by-tape analysis of Penix seems to have impressed Coach Prime, who responded to his critiquing skills with a tweet.

Deion wrote, “I KNOW U KEEP IT 💯! That’s why I love ya and appreciate yo analysis.” Thus, Penix Jr. seems to have a fan in Deion Sanders as well as he gets ready to take on the NFL in a few days. While Penix is predicted to be a top-12 pick, he might just be heading toward a bright future if the Denver Broncos end up drafting the youngster in place of the recently released Russell Wilson. With all that said, here’s a look at Deion’s tweet today that defended the Washington QB with all his might.

“This is ridiculous”: Deion calls out the NFL Draft for overlooking Penix

There has been a common notion among the fans that Michael Penix should not be a first-round pick rather than be at the top of the table. With the Raiders fans on a seemingly desperate ask for Penix, Deion is the latest to join the string of supporters who demand better treatment of the Huskies’ franchise QB.

Deion’s tweet read, “I can’t stand the way the mainstream media and draft experts have look over, look by & looked pass MICHAEL PENIX JR. This is ridiculous. This young man had a GREAT year and 1 average game vs the #1 defense in college football. SOMEBODY stand up & tell the Truth plz. #CoachPrime” Even though Deion’s pleas won’t change Penix’s draft stock, it is nice to see a change of scenery for the Washington QB currently ranked at the bottom of the top-10 picks from the class of 2023.
