Coach Prime’s tongue has done it again! He’s made a promise to the greatest CU fan of a bowl game. As such, Deion better put his money where his mouth is as the newly constructed Buffs’ team takes to arms in the much anticipated Spring Game.

Deion Sanders witnessed a terrible 2023 season. The team went 4-8 and ended up on the bottom of the points table. As reparations, there has been a lot of pressure on the Colorado Buffaloes to finally redeem themselves in this season. With Deion giving his word of honor to Peggy Coppon, there’s going to be more of an expectation to live up to for the men in golden and black.

As the Spring Game of the Colorado Buffaloes begins, Coach Prime stepped foot onto the gridiron himself to express his gratitude for Peggy Coppom, who is more often regarded as the biggest CU fan in history. She even celebrated her 99th birthday in November 2023. Moreover, Coppom and her late sister, Betty Hoover, have been die-hard fans of the Buffaloes for decades now and Deion gave Peggy her share of the flowers and made a bold promise publicly.

Deion was heard saying, “Peggy, wherever you are, I love you. I appreciate you and our goal is that we are going to get you to a Bowl game baby. God bless you.” Peggy is known to rarely ever miss a basketball or a football game when it comes to the Buffaloes and as the new era of Coach Prime’s roster begins, she will be holding Deion’s promise close to her heart as she awaits the Buffs’ glory. Moreover, let’s take a look at when the friendship between Deion and Peggy began.

Coppom addressed the newfound fame and thrill of it all and spoke to USA TODAY Sports in an interview. She said, “Well, my gosh, this year, first of all, it’s been unbelievable, and it’s been a lot of fun. There’s been a lot of excitement and a lot of public recognition, which I didn’t ever feel like I should have. But anyway, it happened because of my friendship with him.” It’s evident that Peggy holds a lot of dear value to Deion and thus, his promise to her has never been more of value.
