The NFL Combine just got a record-breaking winner in the 40-yard dash. This particular run is one of the most interesting events to watch where wide receivers and defensive backs showcase their running abilities. And this year’s NFL prospects are outdoing themselves!
When Clemson cornerback Nate Wiggins clocked a 4.28 record this year, it was hard to imagine anyone else beating that record. But on top of beating that record, a new record for the 40-dash is set inside Lucas Oil Stadium with Xavier Worthy leaving everyone else in the dust!
Texas Longhorns WR Xavier Worthy clocked a record with an incredible 4.21 seconds. After being tied at 4.22 seconds, the official adjusted the time by cutting off .01 seconds, making him the fastest NFL Draft prospect. Following his run, he said in between breaths, “Man I never thought I’d be able to be on this stage and do that.”

With his run, he became the fastest man to ever run at the NFL Combine. He beat the 2017 record of 4.22 laid down by John Ross. This gives the 20-year-old an excellent prospect of being drafted into the NFL in an early round. NFL teams may be on the hot heels of Worthy after that remarkable record!
