All eyes are on the Buffaloes program and head coach Deion Sanders. He recently took charge of a packed spring football game to prepare the players for what lies ahead. But the school has been rocked by a huge exodus of football players in the last two weeks. Months after getting the $30 million deal, Coach Prime finally breaks his silence on the matter.

Deion Sanders knows what he wants

Deion Sanders had to choose his words carefully because, well, he is the head coach and can’t just say what he feels like. Though, he said, he usually does say what he feels like. Reacting to the mass player exodus from the Colorado Buffaloes program, the former Atlanta Falcons cornerback said he knows what he wants and doesn’t concede an inch from that.

“People got to be crazy to think that it just happens. It don’t just happen, you make it happen. You know what you want. I can’t stand people who pull up to the drive through and don’t know what they want. Before I get there, I know what I want. I’m not just making this stuff up as we go, we know what we want. And I don’t concede man,” Sanders told Pat McAfee.

As many as 41 Colorado players have entered the transfer portal since April 15. But according to Coach Prime, he wants people who care and want them to compete. There are no ifs and buts about that for him.

It has been just four months since Sanders took charge of the Buffaloes and a lot has changed since then. His impact is already visible, even before coaching the team to a competitive down.

Impact of the ages

He might have lost a big chunk of his players in Colorado but Deion Sanders isn’t worried. He has had a huge impact ever since coming to the school a few months ago. Since his $30 million appointment, the season tickets are off the shelves. That is the earliest it has happened in program history.

Team merchandise sale is up 700%, meaning a lot more revenue for the team. And all that has a knock-on effect on everything. On top of that, he has attracted many players into the program by the sheer star power he has. All in all, he has had an undeniable effect even before the team’s first competitive game under him.

How will Coach Prime tackle the exodus in Colorado? How high can he take the team in his first season in charge? All those questions are running in the minds of the fans of the team. But no doubt, there is a sense of excitement that Colorado hasn’t seen in years.
