Big Ten Football just posted on Twitter on JJ McCarthy passing a legend with the caption, “Move over, Tom Brady.” Now, he sits on the No. 9th overall with just 80 yards to beat his head coach, Jim Harbaugh.?

Tom Brady began his football career playing for the Michigan Wolverines from 1995 to 1999. He began as a starting quarterback for the last two seasons, setting Michigan’s record for the most attempts and completions with 214 in his starting year. Just recently, Tom Brady was on the 9th spot in Michigan history with the most passing yards at 5,351 yards. But the last victory against Purdue moved JJ McCarthy ahead of the NFL legend with 5,369 all-time passing yards.?

Tom Brady has led his team with 40-9 during his four seasons at Michigan. As of JJ McCarthy’s three seasons, he also boasts an all-time winning record of 34-3, which is just a single digit short of Brady’s record. He holds the program’s record for the 5th lowest interception percentage in a career with 2.67%. The former Michigan QB also ranks 7th and 10th in Michigan history with average passing yards per game in a season, with 215.5 yards in 1999 and career touchdown passes at 35, respectively. He is also tied at 11th for most single-season touchdown passes with 20 in 1999.?
