Bill Belichick’s farewell from the New England Patriots after 24 historic years was a landscape shift in the football world. What begged the question amidst his mutual decision with owner Robert Kraft to leave was whether they were the best to grace the gridiron. Coach Prime, known for his candidness, spoke harshly about the orchestrator behind the Patriots’ success. Upon being asked who deserved all the credit behind the massive success of the franchise, he gave answers that could cast a shadow of doubt on Belichick’s legacy. Sanders delivered his take on how Brady propelled the Patriots more than Belichick by calling him a ‘game changer.

Now, with Brady retired from the game after finding success away from the Patriots and Belichick out of a job, have Sanders’ words become a reality? We look back at Deion Sanders‘ first thoughts on the move five years back, giving us his opinion and analysis of the Brady/Belichick era.

Sanders sentences Brady as the chief orchestrator rubbing into Belichick’s wounds

Delving into the throwback video from UNDISPUTED on YouTube, Deion Sanders gives Tom Brady the lion’s share of credit for the Patriots’ success. With pure conviction, Sanders said, “Tom Brady is a game-changer on the field, in the locker room, in life.”  He made the point back in 2019 that Brady would thrive just fine without Belichick. His words came true when Brady went on to win the Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Belichick has parted ways with the Patriots and is still out of a job, with uncertainty about his future increasing.

His words blatantly question the extent of Bill Belichick’s influence on the Patriots dynasty. Amidst accolades and achievements, Belichick’s time has constantly been fragmented with scrutiny and criticism from rival coaches. With Belichick being without a job for the first time in 25 years, questions have been asked if he deserved the credit for bringing together the teams by panelists like Shannon Sharpe.

While Tom Brady and Bill Belichick managed to win six Super Bowls together, their relationship appeared to get worse with every new feat. “Tom Brady is in a class by himself, so I’m gonna give it to Tom Brady because he could get another coach and still be winning,” he said. On many occasions, Brady was responsible for the Patriot’s victories when Belichick’s strategies did not work out.

Sanders did not shy away from giving Bill Belichick his deserved credit, though. He even called him one of the greatest coaches in college probe and NFL history. However, he still provided most of the credit to Tom Brady because opponents feared him, not the head coach or owner. While Coach Prime is a beacon of experience in the football scene, his words reverberate through fans, causing passionate discussions.

Bill Belichick’s future amidst struggles to find a new head coach position

As Bill Belichick parted ways with the New England Patriots, his next move has been widely anticipated by NFL fans globally. Recent developments have hinted that Peyton Manning is interested in getting Belichick to be a part of his Omaha Productions. He wants to bring Belichick’s extensive experience to the media outlet. They also plan to team up with two legendary coaches, Belichick and Nick Saban. However, both legends have yet to confirm these rumors.

Bill Belichick, who is already 72, left the Patriots after an illustrious career. However, many analysts have also predicted that he might take a senior advisor position back with the Patriots. What do you think is next for Bill Belichick? Let us know in the comments below.
