You wouldn’t have thought Deion Sanders would get caught in the middle of a basketball beef, but here we are. Michael Jordan and Isiah Thomas have indirectly involved the legendary cornerback and baseball player, Deion Sanders, in their long-standing feud.

This rivalry is like an old soap opera. There are a million theories about how it started, but one popular one is the 1985 All-Star Game. People say Isiah “froze out” Jordan, limiting him to just 7 points. Though Isiah swears it’s not true, the damage was already done. Their battles on the court, especially in the Eastern Conference, only made things worse. And then there was the 1992 Dream Team drama, with Isiah claiming Jordan kept him off the team.
Fast-forward to now, and Isiah is still at it. On July 26, the NBA star wrote on his X handle, “Bo Jackson and @DeionSanders may be the two best athletes I’ve ever seen in any sport.” It looks like one big name is missing, and you guessed it right: it’s the legend, Michael Jordan. It looks like Isiah’s old rivalry with Jordan isn’t over after all.

Now, Isiah even calls LeBron James the GOAT of the NBA, denying Jordan the title. However, Jordan’s legacy as one of the best NBA stars is undeniable. He’s set the standard for excellence with six championships by flawlessly playing defense and offense.
It seems like Isiah alone often overlooks Jordan’s talent. Even Deion Sanders likely respects Jordan’s greatness and has frequently raved about his friend in need!

Deion Sanders and Michael Jordan bonding
Can you believe Deion Sanders is back on track with his football career mainly because of Michael Jordan? When Deion was feeling unsure about his future while playing for the Redskins, Jordan stepped in with some crucial advice. Jordan told him to “try even harder” and motivated him to keep pushing. Those words seemed to work, as Deion extended his NFL career and even played for the Baltimore Ravens later.

Even last year, before his Coach Prime series release, Deion shared many heartfelt moments, including one about his good friend Jordan. “MJ is a good friend of mine. I remember when he came to pick me up one time when we were playing against the Cubs, and he picked me up in Chicago,” Deion recalled, raving about their bonding time. He even shared a fun story about riding in Jordan’s Porsche with his security and their lively locker room conversations.
Now, it’s not just one-sided; Jordan, a two-sport athlete, credits NFL stars like Deion and Bo Jackson for inspiring his desire to play baseball. In an old interview, Jordan said he “got this whole new idea from Bo, from Deion” to play baseball. It looks like this great friendship has been under the radar for years!
