Keenan Allen, who was recently traded to the Chicago Bears by the Los Angeles Chargers, visited USC on their Pro Day to study his potential QB in Caleb Williams. The NFL veteran rates the No. 1 prospect as a “hell of an athlete” who’s “really good.”

While the 2024 NFL Draft is still pending, Williams is a favorite to land at Chicago which holds the No. 1 pick. His speech at the Pro Day about his playing style is generating speculation among fans. Could it be a jab at Justin Fields who was recently traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers?

NFL Notifications recently posted a video of Caleb Williams live on USC’s Pro Day where he revealed his favorite style of play. The top overall prospect to enter the 2024 NFL Draft disclosed, “I don’t like running. I don’t like running unless I have to… I like throwing the ball to my receivers letting all of us have fun.” Now, speculation is on board as it appears like he could be taking a dig at Justin Fields.

When it comes to running, Justin Fields is a pro as one of the top rushing QBs and a dangerous running threat to his opponents. Since 2021, Fields has recorded 6,674 yards and 40 TDs but then, he only completed 60.3% of his passes. What Williams said about his style of play is a stark contrast to what the Bears already have which couldn’t help them win. If the Bears draft him, he’ll have a lot to prove with his passing abilities.

Keenan Allen’s out there in Southern California keeping an eye on his prospective QB. At 31, he may be a veteran now but that gives him an edge because he’s been there in the game long enough to guide NFL rookie Williams who’s entering the pro league. He said, “I know the game. I know the ins and outs, I know the zones, I know how to beat man, I know pretty much how to play the game.”

Allen is a force to reckon with, considering he’s a 6x Pro Bowler with six 1,000+ yards and five 100+ reception seasons. He finished last season catching 108 passes for 1,243 yards and seven TDs in 13 games. 

While Williams is already a star in his own rights, having a veteran like Allen to look out for him could be a game-changer for the Bears if everything goes according to the plan.
