Recently, DNVR Sports uploaded a video on YouTube that captured McKinney’s Colorado Buffs spring conference speech. In his interview, he was asked what he thinks about Shedeue Sanders as a quarterback. The 6’2″, 190-pounder said, “Sometimes I think I’m in a great position and then sometimes that ball is just right there, so I feel like he’s also preparing for the next level, college level and NFL level. I feel like the ball there fast, and that’s what he’s really been doing.”

As the 2024 NFL Draft closes in, rumors about him as a potential top pick in the 2025 draft class are also surfacing. When Mckinney was asked his opinion on whether he thinks Shedeur Sanders is the best QB, he said without flinching, “I would say so, yes.” So, this year, Coach Prime’s valuable offensive weapon has a lot to prove on the field after his father’s confidence in him in the 2025 NFL Draft while hinting at an “Eli Manning” situation.

In a Barstool Show, Coach Prime didn’t hide his confidence in Shedeur Sanders and two-way star Travis Hunter when he projected him in the 2025 draft class. He said, “Top four, anywhere one through four, one of them is going to go one and the other won’t go past four.” By one, he meant Shedeur Sanders, who finished the season with 3,230 yards and 27 touchdowns despite missing the last game against Utah due to injuries.

Deion Sanders, also added, “I know where I want them to go. Let’s not forget Shilo. There’s certain cities where it’s not going to happen, it’s going to be an Eli.” Will Shedeur Sanders be the No. 1 pick is the question, and that will depend a lot on his field performance this year. Deion Sanders already brought in elite players, including Jordan Seaton and Kahlil Benson, who gave their word to protect Shedeur Sanders. Only time will tell if the Jerry Rice Award winner will be able to live up to the hype he’s receiving.
