After Generating $90M in Revenue, Coach Prime Becomes the Most Wanted Man in College Football

The most influential coach in current-day college football just keeps getting popular. With each passing day, the fans talk a little more about the legendary Coach Prime and it’s not just because of his words. Deion has proved time and time again that he’s one of the pioneers of American sports history and his influence seems to be bigger than himself already.

Deion arrived in Colorado from Jacksonville last season in 2023. Upon his arrival, he was met with a mighty celebration from the Buffs fans, who expected a lot of improvement in the football program at Boulder. Even though the team couldn’t live up to those expectations, Coach Prime’s arrival itself changed Colorado for the better. It is reported that the university observed over $90 million being generated in total revenue, which includes ticket sales, merchandise, etc. Moreover, as per recent reports, the Colorado program is set to receive a big piece of the pie and it’s all thanks to Coach Prime.

If there ever was a day for Colorado to be more grateful for Deion Sanders, it is today. The first year of Deion being at Colorado saw the revenue generated from Multimedia Rights at a 51% rise as compared to the 2022 season. Moreover, the company is projecting to generate $8.3 million in fiscal 2024 as Coach Prime continues to redefine the team with stronger and better players.

Under their current contract, CU stands to gain significantly with projections indicating a $4.5 million revenue share. Moreover, Sanders’ name and fame have attracted major media attention, including the likes of Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff, which will make Colorado University a household name in the world of college football. Moreover, it is because of Deion’s impact in the NCAA that teams like the Florida Gators seem to want him on the squad.

Since last year, the rumors of eve-teasing between the Florida Gators and Deion have been flying high. When Bill Napier, the current HC for the Gators, was signed, the fans held out hope for Deion to join the Gators in case Napier failed to rise to the occasion. Regarding this matter, Paul Finebaum expressed his views on the speculations.

He said, “You’ve got a brand new president there in former Sen. Ben Sasse who is a forward-thinking guy who would look at Deion [Sanders] and go, ‘I like this.’ I think he could consider this the ticket. It is considered as one of the premier public universities in the country. They just finished No. 1 in a poll and I think Deion fits their makeup very well. The fact that he played at Florida State makes it even more intriguing and more enticing for Deion. How do you not be attracted by that fertile recruiting ground down there?” Thus, with the 2024 season drawing near, could the end of it mean a different playing ground for Coach Prime?
