In 1996, Deion Sanders played with the Dallas Cowboys to secure his second Super Bowl against the Pittsburgh Steelers. It was all glory and celebration, but things took a wild turn one year after winning the Super Bowl XXX. The startling revelation was that he attempted to take his own life but miraculously survived the intentional car crash without injuries.

In his recent YouTube appearance on CBS Mornings, Deion Sanders opened up about his su*c*de attempt that resulted from his mental deterioration following the divorce from his first wife, Carolyn Chambers, with whom he had two children. He solemnly said, “The only thing I loved during that time was my son and my daughter. And I was going through a horrible divorce. And I felt like they had been taken away from me and that’s the only thing that gave me my life.”

The suic*de attempt landed on Joe Rogan’s podcast, where Sean O’Malley left Rogan awestruck when he recalled how Deion Sanders attempted to take his own life. Per O’Malley, “I was watching this Deion Sanders little documentary on YouTube, and he attempted to take his own life after his Super Bowl experience. He tried to drive his car off a cliff.” Despite the attempt, he escaped without a single scratch. Deion Sanders later said after this miraculous incident, “I just surrendered… I remember myself saying ‘Lord, if that’s you, take me.’ And that’s when the transformation started to happen.” Coach Prime touched on this topic in his new book Elevate and Dominate in Chapter 21.

In his latest book release, you’ll find Deion Sanders talking about this life-altering incident when he intentionally crashed his customized black Mercedes off a 40-foot cliff. He wrote, “I wanted it to be the end. But through the grace of God, it was the beginning. The beginning of something GLORIOUS.” The 56-year-old previously disclosed this information in his first book in 1999 titled, “Power, Money and Sex: How Success Almost Ruined My Life.” But it’s in the new book that he attributes his arrival in Colorado as a divine intervention.
