The Coach Prime Effect is real and the numbers just surfaced to prove the statement. One of the best decisions that the University of Colorado made might be hiring Deion Sanders who entered the program in December 2022 as the HC. CU sees a surge in finance in FY2023 under Coach Prime Effect

Before delving into the details of the University of Colorado Boulder’s annual financial report to the NCAA for FY2023, what we need to know is that the report only documented the period from July 2022 to June 2023. This means that Coach Prime’s work in Boulder began only halfway through the reporting phase since he joined in December. FY2023 saw a drastic growth in total revenue at $127,028,292, which is a shocking $32.2 million spike from FY2022. This is a CU Athletics record that crossed the $100 million revenue mark for the first time under Coach Prime.

CU Athletics earned most of its income through ticket sales, generating $15.7 million in FY2023. Out of this figure, Coach Prime’s football team contributed 83% of the revenue with $13 million. While the collective CU Athletics department fell in a -$9,086,178 deficit for FY2023, the football program was the only one with a $15.1 million profit along with men’s basketball with $1.3 million. But Deion Sanders is also boosting the local economy.

It comes without questions. Where there is Coach Prime, there is social media, and with social media, there’s fame, and with fame comes money. The Prime Effect boosted Colorado’s local economy at $113.2 million leading locals to have only good things to say about the Buffs HC as is seen in the statement, “Say what you want about @DeionSanders but the local businesses are very happy with him.” But how is he making that happen?

Coach Prime’s Midas touch has helped the CU Athletics department cross the $100 million revenue mark for the first time in history. The recent financial report is a testament to the fact that Coach Prime’s impact on the program has been nothing short of phenomenal.
