In one, he was seen sleeping while holding his trophy, and in the other, he posted his trophy with the caption “Good Morning” in Spanish. Fast-forward to today and the projected No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft recreated a similar scenario. Could it be a flex to cement the Chicago Bears’ draft decision?

The USC Trojans quarterback won the coveted Heisman Trophy in 2022 by recording 4,537 yards and 42 touchdowns. In his recent IG story, the 22-year-old posted a picture of himself covered in a blanket and sleeping beside the trophy. Although he wasn’t holding the trophy like Messi did, there is a stark similarity between the two elite players. 

Caleb Williams is a fan of the legend, and it’s no secret that he’s open about his support and appreciation for Messi. An instance where he portrayed himself as a fan was when the soccer GOAT won the 2023 Ballon d’Or for the eighth time. Following this success, Williams took to his IG story to repost fcbarcelona’s post of Messi holding the trophy. The support between cross-sports stars always receives love and attention. And while Messi is one of the greatest in soccer, Williams is also about to carve a similar path when he officially joins the professional league.
