The Colorado Buffaloes have signed a four-star defensive lineman who recently jumped ship from Alabama. Deion’s on a trajectory to change the state of the team, and with the addition of their newest recruit, the Buffaloes will have an impenetrable defense.

Deion Sanders is known to pull in a lot of transfers, as was seen during his debut with the Buffs. The 56-year-old is currently crushing the transfer portal with plans to bring in a total of 53 new players. With the recent addition of this DL, the Colorado team is set to bring in a total of 15 transfers. But while most of these players are going to be invaluable assets, this recent player might very well be one of the most important transfers yet.

Anquin Barnes announces his decision to join the Colorado Buffaloes.

On December 20, it was announced that the defensive lineman would be shifting from Alabama after a disappointing three years with the team.

Barnes was a four-star prospect in the 2021 recruiting class but didn’t see a lot of playing time in his three seasons. This season, he only appeared in two games and couldn’t record any statistics at all. But after the 6-foot-4, 315-pound Barnes’ decision to move to Colorado, it’s evident that the ground will shake beneath coach Nick Saban’s feet as he’s lost a valuable asset from the Alabama team. Thus, with all that said, here’s a look at the other few transfers that are headed to Boulder to play under Coach Prime.

Colorado Buffaloes’ newest additions to the team as more players continue to commit

It looks like Deion is hell-bent on rebuilding the offensive line when he added four starting-caliber offensive linemen and No. 1 offensive tackle recruit Jordan Seaton. These are the other five players who have committed to Colorado this season.

1) Destin Wade: The twin brother of Keaten Wade, he’s the former quarterback for the Kentucky team.
2) Keaten Wade: The four-star recruit was the linebacker for Kentucky for two seasons and will now be headed to Colorado.
3) Preston Hodge: Ranked as the No. 4 transfer safety, Hodge was the former defensive back for the Liberty Flames team. He is set to be one of Colorado’s biggest additions in terms of defense.
4) Quency Wiggins: The new defensive lineman for Colorado, Wiggins didn’t have the best time with LSU and chose to come to Colorado despite having offers on the table from teams like Alabama, Florida, Texas, and others.
5) Cordale Russell: Nicknamed ‘Baby TO’, Russell could very well be exactly what the Buffs need. He’s a 6-foot wide receiver and is one of the most physically gifted athletes ever.

The Colorado Buffaloes are set to make a statement with their newest squad and hopefully can redeem themselves after this year’s poor season.
